  • Dear DS1,

So now we are up to 6 hugs before mommy can leave for work. Then you still through a fit when I start to leave anyway. Please stop. My heart can't take much more of this!

    Love, Mommy

    Dear DS2,

I love how you said Mama first. Just sayin.

    Love, MAMAMAMAMAMAMA

  • Dear self,

Stop being such a chickenshit about needing to talk to the new nanny about not giving DS junk food. You are his Mom, you get to decide what goes into his body, not her. Stop feeling bad about it! She is doing great otherwise, she just needs some direction in the food department. Grow a pair!

    love,

    Self

  • Dear nice guy-

Sorry for ruining your evening when I mentioned needing to take a dating moratorium. Everything you said was perfect. I feel like shit and I'm unsure if I made the right decision.

    ~confused and guilty

    Dear weekend-

    Hurry up and get here!

This reminds me of the part in Tina Fey's book where she has her daughter ask her nanny to not cut her nails too short because she doesn't want to have to critique the lady. I was like, "that's me! Why is this easy thing so awkward?"
Im glad Im not the only one. Why can I deal with stuff at work with a big pair of cajones, but its stuff at home where I seem to not have any!
  • Dear Boss -

I was really excited when you told me that you put me up for a promotion.  I didn't expect it for a few years.  I was also please when you admitted that my colleague, M, wasn't ready for that type of promotion.  She spends all of her time with her nose up the rears of the C-suite, and not actually doing any work.  They don't see through her.  I thought you did.  So imagine how disheartened I was when I found out that you secretly put her up for the same promotion.  You told everyone about me.  You told no one about her.  I understand that you may have been strong-armed into it, but I hope you understand that she has ruined my chances.  Because I spend my day WORKING and not kissing the @$$es of the executives, I'm going to lose this beauty contest. So thanks for that.

Signed, Dedicated employee who deserves better.

    Dear DH -

Thanks for being my glass-half-full guy.  I love you for it.

    Wifey

    Dear DD2 -

After several horrible nights in a row, I can't thank you enough for sleeping from 7:15pm-6:15am STRAIGHT THROUGH!!!  I'm not expecting that this is a pattern, but it was wonderful for one glorious night.

    Love, Refreshed Mommy
  • @privacywanted - Congrats to your hubby! I'm totally jealous of your 1x a week housekeeper :)

Dear World - Lighten up. Throw us some good news please :)

Dear DS - You're my favorite. Thanks for keeping me smiling.

    Love, your proud mama

  • Dear Future Job,
Could you please hurry up and appear?  I really thought I had that job - I rocked the interviews, yet heard from HR yesterday they went with another candidate.  Great!  Ugh, I would have been perfect for the job, but I think they went with the other candidate who doesn't have a grad degree, therefore paying less.  They were the ones that requested a masters!  Gah.  Oh well.  And I've applied to a few more, but only one I am really even remotely interested in, so fingers crossed.  Job searching is really trying my self-confidence.

    Dear H,
Thanks for supporting me and being patient with me on my job search.  I'm trying to remain my positive upbeat self but it is trying and taxing and I appreciate you more than you know.  I love you!
    Love,
    Your ever grateful wife

    Dear Kids,
Yall rock, thanks for having such a smooth morning since my allergies are kicking my butt and my throat hurts and my eyes are swollen and it tastes like I've sucked on pennies all day.
    Love,
    Your most appreciative mom

  • Dear Self,

You did not need that piece of cheesecake. Or the second piece. Get some willpower.

    Dear H,

I wish it was tomorrow night so you would be home from your trip. It creeps me out being home by myself at night. Especially when it sounds like someone is walking on our front porch at 2 am!

    Love, Me

    Dear LO,

Your smiles and coos just melt my heart. I love it when you "talk" to me!

    Love, Mommy

  • Dear co-worker:

Stop being my time keeper - we are salaried employees and you work remotely from your home.  When I am away from my desk there is no need to ping me via IM multiple times: Are you there? Hello? Are you still working?

    Signed,

    annoyed co-worker
