  I'm in the middle of that right now! Im 6wks straight up tomorrow. I had one bleeding 'event' Sunday night and then occasional brown spotting Mon. U/s Mon morning showed a sac and a yolk, and next to it a bleed. She said it was too early to tell what would happen. I did progesterone test Mon, which I just found at 12.9, google says that's average. I'm doing one more tomorrow morning and she said that that would tell us if we were going in the right direction and when she wanted me back for 2nd u/s. She was wanting 7-10days. I'm feeling positive because I haven't seen any more bleeding, but I know spotting can be totally normal too. FX that you get good news! I'm just trying to take it easy and NOT freak out. :-S

  I wasn't bleeding, but we did go on for an u/s on what we THOUGHT was our 6 week mark, only to realize that our dates were wrong (and it was actually in the earlier part of 5 weeks). We had to do the whole Beta comparison, and wait and wait and wait. The worst part. But, the good news is that today we got to see the little peanut and hear the heartbeat (turns out TODAY we're 6 weeks and 2 days... it happens)! So all you can do now is hold on to hope and wait.   At 5 wks 4 days we just saw gestational and yolk sacs.  A week later there was a baby there with a strong heartbeat.  Hope its just a bit too early and that your bloodwork will come back great!

  I didn't have spotting with DD, but did have an u/s with no baby at 5/6wks, went back a week later and there she was

  I had heavy bleeding and cramps with DS at 11wks, it was a SCH, I had to be on bed rest, but he is 17mths now and crazy as ever, lol.

  Yesterday I had my first ultrasound. I measured 5 weeks and 3 days. Only the gestational sac was showing. They are checking my HCG levels and I go back next Thursday for a followup ultrasound. Praying we see the yolk. Initial stress set in but the NP who is helping me reminded me to relax and seemed reassured that everything would show up fine in next week's ultrasound. So glad I found this board, it is helping to reassure my fears. Leaving everything in God's hands! Praying for all of you and your sweet babies.

  It's totally normal to not see a baby at that time.  I've read that by 5w4d the yolk sac is present but the fetal pole (baby) doesn't often show up until 6-7 weeks.  I'm sorry about your spotting, I've had some too and it's so scary.  GL to you.

  Had my first blood work come back 8289 hcg 13.7 progesterone is that normal??

  I am sort of wondering why doctors are doing ultrasounds so early. It seems like it causes more stress than anything since all you can do is wait anyway. I would rather wait til 8 weeks and know for sure what was happening. Good luck!

  Drs like seeing prog over 12.0. Mine was 13.0 at 4 weeks and 10 at 5 weeks. I go back tomorrow for more. Prog can vary hour to hour so as long as the hcg look good, all should be well.
