What would you do with $400 million?

So the Power Ball lotto jackpot is over $400 million. Whenever the jackpots get so big, I start to day dream about what I would do. Quit my job, pay off the homes for everyone in my family and myself. Take everyone on a vacation and start my own business. It's all wishful thinking.... What would you do?

    Pay off debt, set up our retirement/kids college, build a dream house, take a first class vacation to Europe, probably hand a certain amount to close relatives for them to use as they wanted.

    Pay off my house, fund E's and my neice/nephew's college accounts, take an extended-family vacation, and look at buying a rental flat in London.

    Figure out the rest from there.

    Pay off DH's student loans, move to a REALLY nice apartment, hire a chef and a maid, buy a car, go on great family vacations, give a lot to various charities.

    MH and I play this every time we go to Atlanta because there's a billboard near the state line.  It's funny how my answer has changed since Bryson came along.  I used to say travel very first.

    I would leave our house on the market and just build a house for us now- our forever home and not just a 10 year or so one until my husband is partner.  It would have an amaaaazing kitchen. :)  I'd pay off my Jeep and would probably keep it because I love it.  I'd add to Bryson's trust and buy my mom the Jaguar I promised her when I was 4.  I'd pay off their house too.  We'd probably also buy a beach house and have a huge family vacation, then I'd have to go to Turtle Island, Fiji, where a week's stay is $28K for 2 people.

    Funny thing is that for all those wishes we don't really need 400 millions. Frankly couple of millions will suffice...

    On 2-3 millions I would sell our house and buy a better one. Pay off all our debt. Set up nice college funds for kids. Go travel around the world. I also would buy my mom an apartment in the best assisted living facility available in my area...

     

    If I would win 400 millions, I would open a charity foundation and donate a big portion of it - because as I said, I don't really need that much money.

    Travel the world and bring my family along...maybe live in Fiji for a bit...maybe live in Costa Rica for a bit...maybe live in the South of France for a bit.  Jogging on the beach in the morning, swimming in the ocean, sipping wine in the evenings.  Ah, the possibilities. 

    After satisfying my desire to travel, I would love to start an animal rescue centre and DH and I could open our business as well.
