hey ladies, i swear i'm back again for real this time...i really need this slice of a community of moms in my life and hope to keep up with you a couple times a week. our little monkey is doing great, although nursing a cold right now

i've been feeling more like the pre-baby woman lately, mostly due a much much needed haircut and some control over my daily life! it's funny how things just kinda fall back into place, right? you almost forget all the craziness! i'll leave you with a question though - is anyone still giving a bottle at nap & night? it's been really hard to break the habit because of my husband's terror at the crying but i really need to do it...thoughts? any tips? thanks and talk soon!
Re: back again!
We phased out the MOTN feeding by putting less in every few days (8 oz, then 6, then 4...), maybe that will work for bottles?
Yay for a hair cut and feeling like a woman again! I'm headed to do that this week myself!
We cut the bottle cold turkey at 12mo. He'd already weened himself from the middle of the day bottles, so he was just getting one when he got up in the morning and at bed time. I was scared to death that it was really going to screw up bed time but it didn't really. He was really mad at me because I was offering him a sippy instead of a bottle and he slung it across the room, but I did not offer the bottle. He wasn't happy but went to sleep anyway. This went on for 3 nights, me offering the sippy and him slinging it. The 4th night, I didn't offer and he didn't ask. I say go cold turkey. If it's part of bed time and nap routine, change the routine. Don't offer a bottle, offer a sippy cup. When they don't want it, continue on with whatever your routine is, without giving the bottle. I bet it'll be easier than you think. Will they cry? Yeah, I'm sure but I don't think it'll last too long. Good luck!
