Need Finger Food Recommendations

Need Finger Food Recommendations for my 9 month old twins,  Having a hard time thinking of ideas because they don't have teeth yet.  Egg and milk free.  Thanks!!

Re: Need Finger Food Recommendations

  • As long as its soft enough they don't need teeth. DD had her two bottom at 6 months which may have helped but her top four just came in at 10 months. She ate/eats steamed broccoli, carrots, peppers and apples. Tons of fresh fruit-berries, melons, peaches, bananas, avocado, skinned grapes. Well boiled whole wheat noodles. She loves quinoa (makes a mess) and edamame.

Now she is eating soft meat like burger. And I did spoon feed her my beef barley soup which she loved.

Pretty much anything that is sort of soft, they can gum through.

peas and carrots, banana, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, avocado, green beans, tortilla, and broccoli.

That's what we've been giving DS but he is beginning to eat more of what we are eating since he's been eating finger food for a couple months now.

  • ditto what PPs said.  But to start, the easiest foods is ripe fruits - bananas (halved lengthwise), peach slices, mango strips, kiwi slices.  Overcooked carrots and broccoli are also great.

Once your LO managed those, you can move on to firmer foods such as grapes (quartered), watermelon/cantaloupe cubes, string cheese etc.
