Need Your Answers for "Getting Ready For Baby"....please. :-)

Hello mama's! I'm newly 6 weeks and two days pregnant. I need some feedback from some of you who went through the "getting ready for baby" process. My questions are....When is the best time to start ordering nursery furniture (early?) and start setting up nursery? When is the best time to have your baby registry finished? When is the best time to have your baby shower? I know all of you will answer according to your happenings and experiences of such preparations.....that's what I'm looking for! Thanks so much ladies! ;-)

    Congrats on your new pregnancy. I'm sure you are so very excited! To sum up just about all your questions - you have PLENTY of time to do and plan all of these things. I didn't need to order any nursery furniture - everything I wanted happened to be on site at the store. Lucky me, but I have heard it can take up to 12 weeks to get certain items shipped and delivered. As far as baby registry goes - I finished mine around 25 weeks and I had 3 showers, one at 27 weeks, 30 weeks, and I will have my last and final at almost 34 weeks. So it's really up to you. Good luck - and don't get too ahead of yourself, if you do all the fun stuff now, you won't have much to preoccupy your brain when you're really getting anxious near the third trimester!

    Yes I wouldn't do much about ordering anything just yet. Atleast wait till maybe 16-20 weeks if there is something you really want to get early early. I had my one and only shower about a month before which I think wasn't too late but I probably wouldn't much after. 28-34 weeks is good. Baby registry should be done before obviously so I would say 28 weeks. And I would say try to keep your list to the important stuff. Lots of stuff you don't get a chance to use depending .
