crockpot bags?

Does anyone use those crackpot bags? Maybe i dreamed then up, but its a bag that u put in the crockpot, like a liner, and then you dont have to scrub your CP.
Anyway, do they work? We use the crockpot a lot so those would be nice...

    yeah the thought of cooking in plastic freaks me out. i don't think anyone believes that it'll cause immediate death, it's the fact that chemicals accumulate in your body. no kid died immediately from chewing on a windowsill painted with lead - doesn't mean it's harmless.

    my crockpot is easy enough to clean, and i'm usually lazy about dishes.

    I used them for a while and they do make life super easy!!! BUT, the cooking in plastic thing freaked me out too much so I stopped.

    I use them if I remember, but I only use my crockpot about once a month, maybe twice. It's easy to forget.

    Nope, I worry about the plastic and cooking.  I try to catch the food before it burns to the side, but even if it does I just soak it and scrub.
    Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

    I don't want to cook in plastic either. I just soak overnight and put in dishwasher. I hate doing dishes!

    I always thought they were foil...shows what I know. I wouldn't cook in plastic either.

    I have seen them but never used them. Something about cooking in a plastic bag doesn't sit well with me.

    What kind of bag do you use to cook a turkey? Never heard of one.

    I use them when I remember to.  I think they work well, occasionally stuff does go through into the crockpot, more like condensation I guess.

    I use them twice a month, if that, and am not worried.
    DS (7 years old) from FET in 2010
    DD (5 years old) from IUI in 2012
    TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!

    I only use them if we are having a party to ease with cleanup. I just hate the waste of them. I try not o use ziplock baggies for the as,e reason. I a saving electricity by using my crockpot and throwing it all away by lining it with disposable plastic. I have never had a c rock pot not come clean with a long soak and just getting wiped out.

    Nope, never heard of an oven bag for...well, anything. Is it like a giant ziploc? What's the point, how do they make things taste better?

    I have never used a crockpot bag, but the oven bags are awesome. We use them for turkeys and they turn out so juicy.. And no basting because it bastes itself.. And easy clean up. Never thought or worried about the cooking in plastic part... With so many things out to harm and kill us these days.. I'll pick my battles.. Lol.

    I use the bags every time. They are BPA free, I am saving from the amount of water it would take to scrub them clean.
    But I also grew up eating pot roast from a bag and it is the most delicious thing ever.

    Do you really think the cost of the bag is cheaper than a few gallons of water? 
    I bought them on a coop for like 10cents so I am not worries about the price of them.

    Isn't the insert to a crock pot dishwasher safe? Why use a bag when it can be washed?

    I don't use my CP too often, but when I do I lightly spray the bottom and edges with cooking spray. Makes clean-up easier.

    I have never had a problem cleaning the crockpot.  A little dishwashing liquid and fill it with water while we're eating.

    you're right Hav, the BPA alternatives haven't necessarily proven to be safe either.  it may be a matter of time before those plastics are banned.  heck, even stone wear/ceramics include lead and can be unsafe when the surface cracks or is heated.  that's why i prefer to use the 2 corelle dishes (made in USA)  i have to heat DS's food instead of the set of bowls i have that are made in china.
