T&P please- So sick

Sorry I've been so MIA lately (not that anyone's sitting at home weeping at my absence) but I could really use some positive vibes. We are visiting my family and fly out to Virginia on Tuesday and I am so sick. I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection, both boobs have horrible painful clogs that I just can't get out, I've got the chills hard core, upset tummy and I just can't get my boobs to empty. I feel worse than I can ever remember and terrified I'll get mastitis. Ugh. My EPing days may be coming to an end.

    So sorry, I hope you feel better soon. That sounds miserable.

    Just a thought to help with the painful clogs, have you tried maybe letting the LO latch on just temporarily after you've pumped as much as you can. That might help to empty them a bit. When I had a clog that's what I did (as well as massage in a warm shower )

    I've had those chills and mastitis, it hurts like hell! So I know what you mean..I hope you feel better soon! And you don't have to stop EPing!! (I EP too)

    Aw! So sorry, Allie! Hope you feel better soon!! Have you tried getting on all fours and pumping that way? Sounds dumb but gravity really helps. Also, have you tried latching her with a nipple shield yet? If you can just get her to latch long enough to empty you like pp says then you can continue to EP without the pain. Good luck! Up date on your situation when it gets better!

    Aww! Sending you hugs! I hope you feel better very soon. I've had a lot of sinus infections (and surgery). Do you have a Neti pot? They aren't pleasant but really do help!

    Feel better! if you get antibiotics for the sinus infection, youn may stave off mastitis if you're getting it.

    I'm so sorry you're feeling like crap. Who invented situations where you get clogged boobs AND sinuses all at once??? Helluva reward for conquering the transatlantic mile-high pumping challenge.

    Sorry the flight attendant in menus worried about you flying with a sinus infection. I recommend saline rinses and whatever decongestant/antihistamine is safe for breast milk. Take the decongestant/antihistamine 15-20 minutes before descent and it should help with the pressure.

    I really hope you feel better (for the selfish reason that we all miss you).

    Yeah I thought this too. When I had mastitis I definitely had chills because of the fever.

    Well, team. I'm back from the doctor and I've got a delicious dose of antibiotics to take. Last night was rough, but hopefully it will get better. I'm still pumping like a fiend trying to get the clogged duct issue worked out.

    Lola- I tried to get Lexie to BF on the clogged side and she was all like, "WTF mom, you want me to eat your boob? I'd rather have a bottle...or my hand." Sigh.

    Has anyone taken Keflex/Cephalexin antibiotics while BFing? Any change or issue with your baby?

    I was on Keflex for mastitis and didnt notice any change in my LO. Like PP said, I started feeling better after about two doses of antibiotics. Hope you're feeling better soon too!

    Just make sure you avoid Sudafed. It decreases supply. Feel better soon!

    I believe I was on cephalexin for a UTI when LO was like a week old. Just be sure to take a probiotic too! You don't need thrush on top of everything else!!

    This! I make sure to keep up with probiotics when I am on antibiotics.

    Sorry you're feeling so bad. If your LO won't latch, any chance your SO can take one for the team if you still have a clog? I hope you feel better soon, mastitis is a beeotch.

    Could you maybe have mastitis? I got the chills and felt SO SO sick when I had it a couple months old. It was horrible. Your symptoms mimic the flu but its like times 100!

    Hope you feel better! I'd go get checked out

    BFP 5/21/10, Missed m/c 7/5/10 at 11w3d (baby measured 7wks), D&C 7/7/10

    Aug/Sept 2010 - CD3&10 b/w & u/s, genetic testing, SA, HSG, & Lap/Hyst to remove septum

    12/09/10 BFP -- 7/05/11 DS born at 33w5d. Came home after 23d in NICU at 37w0d

    June 2012 - TTC #2! -- 10/05/12 BFP --  5/23/13 DS2 born at 37w1d! Yay full term!

    Surprise BFP 6/25/14 LO#3 due Feb2015!
