We are relocating this summer. We will be living in Naperville but I will be working in LaGrange and DH in the city so we are hoping to transition ourselves near LG or Brookfield, and I could take DS with me on my commute so a daycare in that area would be better. The clock is super ticking so any advice would be great!
If we can get our house sold and move into a new place soon then a nanny share might work, again Brookfield or LG area. Maybe Downers Grove too.
TIA!!
Re: Daycare recs western burbs or nanny share?
Hello!
I'm new to this board, but thought I'd answer seeing as how we're going to practically be neighbors lol. My DH and I already signed up baby #1 (due in October) for Kiddie Academy in Plainfield, but they have other locations around the chicago land area (including Naperville). They have an amazing curriculum, the staff is amazing, and the head of the Plainfield school is outstanding (smart, well educated, can think for herself, has a vision for the school, knows EVERYTHING that's going on with her school and the families, etc). So I can't speak for other locations but the Plainfield one blew me away. The curriculum includes integrated spanish and ASL, as well as music and art even for the wee ones. They also base their curriculum on developmental milestones, not themes, which is fantastic - the buildings are very well laid out, LOTS of natural light and space, and separate outside play areas based on age (so the 5 year olds don't run over the toddles, etc). I went to several places and just fell in love with KA - my stops included Goddard, Lighthouse and Creative World in Plainfield. I also visited Kensington School in Naperville, which let's be honest, if money was no object I'd send the kiddo there! But alas, I am not made of money and it is not in the cards for us to send baby there.
Hope this helps a bit, and good luck with your search!
