I didn't even know there was a preemie discussion board so glad that someone directed me to it! Here is our story so far:
It all started when I went in at 28 weeks with minor bleeding but I had to get my rhogam to make sure everything would stay okay. A week later I went in with bleeding heavier than normal and back contractions and dilated at 3. I was discharged 3 days after I was given steroids for his lungs, magnesium, etc and medicine to stop contractions. Less than 24 hours I was back in with contractions and dilated to 3....this time it was more intense. I was on bed rest in hospital for about 4 days and on the 4th I had him at 9 after my water broke at 6:30 in morning. It was quite the rush and very fast labor which caused some issues so I was not able to see him for awhile. He was born at 3 lbs 7 ounces and 16 inches long. He is obviously in NICU and will be for awhile. Not at all how I planned my pregnancy would go, everything seemed perfect up to that point. All they can guess is we were both getting a slight infection and that it might have gotten worse as time went on. I had a great doctor deliver me and so far things are going okay. As you most probably know a baby that early has ups and downs and we are hoping over time there are more ups! But for his age he is doing good and we pray he grows big and healthy and we get to take him home soon. They predict around 34 weeks but he has to meet a lot of milestones as well so probably be longer.
