Mamaroo?

Do you have one? What's your opinion? Love it, hate it, indifferent? DS2 doesn't like to sleep. He could care less about our traditional swing, and several Moms recommended we try the Mamaroo.. I'm just having a hard time putting $200 out for something he may not like...

I do not have one, but both of my sisters have one and they swear by it. My one niece was very colicky and this was one of the only things that would calm her down. The other niece was in the critical care nursery for 2 weeks and they had one. She got used to it and did not like the traditional swing that my sister already had. They had to buy one for her to keep her happy. DS has only been in one at their houses, but only a few times. My sister was able to use a coupon when she bought hers and my other sister found one on craigslist.

Thanks.. After the 20% coupon it's around $200 (tax included)... I've checked Craigslist, but nothing local to me... Hmmmm... I'm so torn!

@jessiebug81. Do you find the motions are slow? That's the biggest complaint I've read.. Doesn't swing/bounce fast enough.. DS likes fast.. But he. Likes bouncing more than swinging and he likes being upright.. Which is why I think the Mamaroo might be worth it...

We love the Mamaroo. I wish we had it with DS1. There are different settings like car, kangaroo, and tree swing (plus some others) we use and honestly I haven't had to turn the settings up past the second or third speed. The sounds on it are great too.

DS2 sometimes sleeps in it...I know that sounds terrible, but it works.

I hate to be the only one with a bad review but DS never really liked it. It was ok when he was a newborn but I think he would have slept in anything. Once he hit like 2-3 months he hated it with a passion. I assumed it would be all swings but he absolutely loved my sisters crappy old travel swing. Like seriously obsessed. I think it's because it really swings fast and the movement isn't as subtle as the mamaroo. Just wanted to through that out there. It would probably be best if you knew someone with one to test out if he would like it or not.

DD loved it. Even knowing that though, I'm not sure I would dish out $200 for it, since she stopped using it around 6mo. (It was a gift.) I'm in the find a used one, or one you can borrow from a friend camp.

I've totally been lurking since DS was born! Barely been on my actual computer, and my phone logs me out every single time!

But... i was given a mamaroo and it's all sorts of awesome. DS is a fairly easy-going baby (7 weeks), and would probably be happy in anything. Prior to receiving it as a gift, I had planned on buying one from Craigslist. I saw a few for $100 or less. If you go that route... get one made in 2013 (I think). Apparently the older ones are slower? I read that in reviews somewhere.
