I have to drive 40ish minutes to drop off my items for a huge consignment sale tomorrow at noon. Once I get there the items have to be counted and sorted and I have like 200 items. My mom "forgot" she was going out of town that day and had to retract her offer to watch K so now I have to tote him along. He does not do well in the car and he does not do well sitting still for long periods of time while my items are being sorted. Tomorrow will be oh so fun, I'm sure.
So today DH is travelling for work, so I had to take DD to the dayhome. I decide to drop her off early so that I can beat traffic and get to work 20 mins early and have my coffee quietly. I am the first one in the office and there are people camped out at the door. I help them and then go to get my coffee, and the coffee machine is broken!
Then my boss tells me that three people f-ing called in sick. We also have two people on vacation and one person that went on disability recently and my boss has to go to meetings off site. So out of 10 regular staff, there are 3 of us here. We do have some temps in the office to help, but they are limited in what they can do. It's pretty ridiculous!
I have a bunch of co-workers off on vacation today so everyone in the world is deferring to me for help. Great, except that I work part-time from home and can't work on requests during the day while Olivia is awake. People were hardcore guilting me into working this morning while trying to wrangle my baby. It was awful, Olivia discovered my computer's power button which lead to full on mommy meltdown complete with tears. Luckily O was happy as a clam playing on the floor but I was stressed to the max.
Also, I tripped on a toy, fell into a TV, and the slammed my knee into our wood bed frame all in one graceful move. More tears. Stupid hormones.

H's former employer are dragging their feet on his unemployment. I have a feeling they are going to deny it because technically and possibly on paper, he was let go due to misconduct. Can they deny unemployment due to someone ELSE'S misconduct? Guess we're about to find out. Just had to transfer $600 from our savings to pay bills, and I only paid the ones due immediately.
I have never in my life been more happy to be a renter, although my life still sucks because this house is falling apart. Our landlord is having contractors out on Thurs to tear up our carpet and inspect the foundation. The hot water heater started leaking the other day and he had to send plumbers out to fix it. Our freezer is broken I think. Taylor's Eggos were flimsy this morning so I moved everything to our tiny fridge in the garage. I'm hoping I saved the $10 bag of frozen chicken breasts since they were still solid. Otherwise I'm going to give us all food poisoning.
@rtaylor I have worked in HR and Payroll sales before, and Oklahoma is typically an employee friendly state. They may have said they let him go due to misconduct, but they have nothing on paper (which is exactly why they are dragging their feet). If they did not follow protocol as stated in their employee handbook (or if they have no employee handbook) they automatically lose. If they can not prove he did something wrong, they lose. The burden of proof lies with the employer, not the employee. If he had never been written or formally talked to or he did and there is no record, they have no leg to stand on. When people do stuff like this it is shady and they have no way to fight the unemployment claim so they drag it on as long as possible, but there are deadlines, so hopefully it will all come along soon. Good luck, that's a huge pain. Did you ever decide what to do about FT versus PT?
Thanks, he is going to call the unemployment office tomorrow and see if they have even gotten in contact with the employer yet. I don't think I'm going to go FT. In fact I've been looking into going back to school. I've looked into getting my masters in speech pathology, and it would only take about 2 years. But I can't get started on that goal until H gets employed and I know what our schedule is going to be like. Thanks for asking!
Our house went on the market Thursday and no one has viewed it. We even went out of town this weekend so we wouldn't have to mess with keeping it clean and getting out quick with the kids all weekend. Left it listed as viewable at anytime with no notice or appointment necessary. And nada.
My white chocolate candy corn m&ms taste like skittles. Walgreens must have stored them together. Assholes.

Ours has been on the market 3 times in 3 years. We've had maybe 6 showings TOTAL. Its so aggravating! I'm tired of living in a clean house with no photos! Hope you have better luck!
Re: Monday gripes
Mines not really about Monday, but it's a gripe.
