Breastfeeding/Pump Question

My DD is 22 months now and I had a Medela pump that I bought new with her. I now have a DS and will start to pump soon before I go back to work.. My question is I know when you buy a used pump from someone else you should buy new pump parts ex. tubing, shields, etc but should I do that with my own pump or do you think it would be ok for me to just clean/sanitize it?

replace the little white membranes, sanitize the rest. Unless the tubing looks weird/dirty/loose it should be fine. The LC at my hospital checked out my pump & parts for me for free (she has a little thing to check the suction too)

I just sterilized mine. Probably should have replaced those white things...But I don't work outside the home this time, so I've only pumped for DD2 like...twice ever, when I was in a wedding.

I sterilized everything and replaced the white membranes and tubing (milk had accumulated in the tubing that I couldn't get out). Target and amazon have reasonable prices for replacement parts, however, if you are replacing the tubing, buy it directly from the pump manufacturer (medela etc.). While you can find compatible tubing elsewhere, it may not work as effectively with your pump.
