Happy to see that the first ever Miss America of Indian decent was crowned last night. The reactions from some Americans are really upsetting though. Feeling a little down becuase of them. :(

    Those comments are disgusting. America is a nation of immigrants - by its definition. Unless you want to be a purist, and then Miss 'America' should be Native American.

    I think the racist tweets and backlash are disgusting, but I also found what she "supposedly" said about the outgoing Miss America pretty gross.

    Yeah, Miss New York.  No surprise that a) she'd be roundly criticized by idiots and bigots for not resembling blonde, blue-eyed Barbie and b) that she'd be a bitch because New York.  And I say that as a born, raised, and dyed-in-the-wool-never-feel-the-need-to-live-anywhere-else-New Yorker.

    ETA: Which reminds me of the Marc Anthony controversy from the baseball All-Star game earlier this summer, which inspired insane Twitter rants.

    She is Indian AMERICAN.... She was born here! I don't understand some of these people and their ugly comments. I just want to say, where did your family come from because let me tell you I'm pretty sure you're not full blooded Native American. Idiots.

    I was mostly suprised by how many people gave a shit about who won Miss. America. I thought people stopped careing about this thing 20 years ago? So she is Indian, so what! If you could tell me who the last 3 Miss. America's were and why they won I would take your oppionon seriously.

    My daughter will be Irish, German, Scottish, Iraqi, and Lebanese and guesse what haters, she will be American!

              

                       Mom+Dad+Josie+May 2015=2 under 2!!!!
