  I'm actually done shopping for Ian already.  I got him a fleece hooded Thomas the Train blanket, jammies(I've always gotten the kids jammies for Christmas), a Thomas The Train that lights up, makes noise, and 'goes', and a Hug Me Elmo.  It may not seem like a "lot" but this kid seriously needs NOTHING...and I know he'll get a ton of other things from other people so I'm not going all out!

  I'm going with the idea someone here gave last year: four gifts - Something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read!

  Likely, we will do a toy or two (she doesn't need more!), a few books, some clothes and I'm thinking of a leap pad as the "big" gift.  Who knows though!

  I think we are going to get him a Smart Pad (maybe an Ipad Mini).  He's already memorizing words in his books so I'd like him to start playing some e-word games.

  Toys I have stored away that I can't decide what will be for birthday vs Christmas: play kitchen, play food, shopping cart, Mr. Potato Head. I grab stuff when I find an awesome deal. We'll have to see what other deals I find to see what she gets.

  We're getting puzzles, art stuff, dress up stuff and books. Also some clothes that she'll need by then. We don't go all out, just a few little things

  He seriously has so many toys! and books! I don't want any more clutter.  He'd be fine with rocks, sticks and dirt.

  I perused today and I think I'm going to get him some duplo legos (the bigger legos), little people farm set and maybe a train table so I'll have another place to store his stuff.  I'm also considering a teepee or little carnival tent like from ikea since we have baby #2 on the way and I want him to have his own chill space.  I might do that for his birthday instead!

  @Starbuck128 I was just at Costco today and they had a set of coffee maker, toaster, and kettle. I'm pretty sure the kettle made noises because it asked for batteries. I don't know the brand, though. Just a heads up

  I was thinking about getting him an Ipad Mini.  BUt I can't justify buying something like that for a 2 yr old.  So we are going to try a Leapster.
