Using a family name DH isn't crazy about...

I won't be finding out the gender of this baby for about 13 wks, but I can't help but get prepared. If it's a girl I want to incorporate my grandmother's NN Bonnie in her name. I would love to use it as a first name, but DH said no way. It's not great as a middle name, but I've come across one I like: Cora Bonnie
Honest opinions please and any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Cora Bonnie sounds nice. Out of curiosity, what was your grandma's full name (since Bonnie was a NN)?

I think I could get him on board. I figure we used his fam name for DS, I would like to use a fam name if we have a girl. However, I wouldn't FORCE him into it. If he really was truly against it I wouldn't consider it. I'd love it as a first name, but since he said no way, I wouldn't pester him with it.

Oh goodness the poor woman told us on her deathbed if we ever used her name she'd haunt us! Full name was Blandina Lucille. My sis already used Luci. I don't like Dina and I just can't think of another name to make out if it!

I think Cora Bonnie is super sweet. I have also heard of Bonnie being a nickname for Bernadette if that is a name you and DH like.

What about Lucille as a MN?

I do like Bonnie though and Cora Bonnie sounds fine.

My DD's mn name is a family name on DH side that I'm not a huge fan of (Helen), but since it was the mn name spot I got over it. And it works beautifully and I kind of even like it now. I'm sure your DH will too.
