I had my first OB appt last week and took the afternoon off work for a "dentist appointment". Well little did I know that our LO would measure 2 weeks earlier than I thought we were. (7w3d vs 5w5d). So go figure the dr wanted to see me again the following week to get another measurement. So I have ANOTHER OB appointment this week on Thursday that I was not able to schedule myself off for. I am a retail store manager. I don't want to lie to my employees/boss, but all I can think of to tell them (with help from my MIL) is that I have an appointment with an allergy specialist. When they all find out next month that I'm KU, do you think they will be unhappy that I lied?
Re: Is it a "Lie"?
I'm a manager and don't ever expect my employees to tell me specifics, if you need time off or have an appointment you do, it's none of my business unless its something serious that I would need to know about. For instance I had an employee who had stage 4 breast cancer.
I think you should be able to say you need off for an appointment and call it a day. If they push, it's none of their business and you're protected by law to not have to disclose that information.
