Applesauce Recipes.

Not how to make it, but what to use it in? I have so much applesauce! I put a little on a waffle and a little in oatmeal. But I need something that uses a lot. I made pork chops with it, I wasn't so happy with that. Maybe a baking recipe?

My grandfather makes an awesome applesauce cake. Take a box of graham crackers, the good cinnamon kind, slather a layer of applesauce between each cracker. Repeat to make cake as long as you want. Coat the whole thing in cool whip and sit in the fridge for at least 12 hours. Super simple and really good once the crackers get all soggy.

healthy + cupcake do not go together for me, so I've never tried it, but I've heard they are pretty good with the substitute.

I have 40lbs of apples at home. 40lbs. It's fucking ridiculous. I made a big batch of applesauce the other day, and then yesterday I baked caramel apple muffins, & apple bread and instead of oil I used the applesauce. I've always done that...doesn't take away from the flavor and since I love the little hint that the cinnamon gives it, it's a good idea in my book. It's especially excellent IN waffles rather than ON waffles. :-)

DD is alergic to eggs, so I use it to substitute in most of our baked goods the conversion is 1/4 cup of applesauce per egg .
