What are my rights-early intervention

I'm bumping from an iPad so excuse the spelling, autocorrect and formatting
Our PT last Monday received a cancellation of services from the EI provider. Our OT said the dates are wrong and probably an error and came that night anyway. Our DI said it was for my older son who had aged out in June (their birthdays are very similar so things like that happen). I called our IFSP service coordinator through the state (they contract out the services here to sunny days). He said that there has been no change on their part and his IFSP is set to renew in a few weeks.
Our PT called her boss and they have both agreed the dates are off (it was requested for like march 27-june27) but that without a correct authorization she cannot come service my son.
It's will be 1 week that DS1 has not had therapy, he literally just started sitting on Monday and I feel that right now is such a critical point and he is getting nothing. I don't understand how if it is an error in their system and his Ifsp still states he is required services they cannot just write a temporary authorization.
What are my rights? What can I do? I feel so lost in this. FWIW we had a HORRIBLE OT who did our annual BDI last month and it just seems ironic that within a few weeks of that we have our services cancelled. I may just be sensitive, but this seems wrong.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I have no idea what your rights are in this situation. In the bigger picture, 1 week isn't going to derail his progress especially if they have followed EI's protocol of helping parents help their kids. He has you in his corner and you can and will fix this. Sometimes folks need a reminder of why they actually go to work each day.

Today, I would work up the phone/office chain until you get someone who can authorize/correct the error. It's OK to ask to have the missed sessions made up, but they may not agree given that it's one week. If you are on good terms with your actual therapists, they may be able to suggest specific names to call if you promise not to "out" them. You could also show up at their offices today with your child and sit tight until someone fixes it.

If you do not get satisfaction by 3pm, I would contact your U.S. Representative and State Representative's offices. Sometimes a phone call from one of their staffers can cut through red tape where a parent has been unsuccessful.

Thanks for the advice. I know it's only been a week but I am just worried that it doesn't seem any closer to being resolved and this could go on for weeks
