Will be finding out the sex of the baby tomorrow...soo excited! Hopefully the baby will be in a great position for the doctor. People told me to drink orange juice and some soda to make it active. Any suggestions?
I'm afraid that's just the way it is. Really the only way to know for sure is when LO is born. However, most technicians are very skilled and get it right a whole lot more than wrong. Just remember finding out gender is a bonus, the point of the U/S is to check for abnormalities. It's so much more important. Anyway, if they can't tell you on the day you can pay for a gender scan. They're not that pricey if you really need to know. Good luck
Its possible. The scan is for checking the health of the baby and finding out what goods it has is a bonus. If you are so bent on finding out what junk it has and they have a problem at the anatomy scan then pay out of pocket for an elective ultrasound at a Storkvision type place.
There is always a chance the sex prediction could be "wrong" (meaning opposite of what they tell you). It happened to two people that I know of on this website. Its not the end of the world and I'm not entirely sure why you are "scared" about it. What exactly would you do about it anyway? You would have to adjust. You couldn't just leave the kid at the hospital because a tech guessed incorrectly on an ultrasound.
Just do your best to do a pro/con list of each sex for your individual situation about each sex. You are bound to find something to love about each one. That way, in the end it doesn't matter what you get.
YOU GUYS ARE ALL MISSING THE POINT I WAS TRYING TO MAKE. I WOULD BE HAPPY EITHER WAY ON WHAT GENDER THE BABY IS. BOY OR GIRL IT WOULD STILL BE LOVED....

No sweet cheeks, obviously you can't read and you missed the point.
I was about to write a reply about how I'm finding out tomorrow too and I'm super excited and nervous, but then I read the replies and realized that the OP edited her post and the original one must have been much more fun.
Can we institute a rule that you have to quote fun posts like this?

Why was this flagged? It wasn't offensive or abusive, though your use of the flag button might be...

Why did you edit your post? For those just tuning in. The original post summary: "we are going to find out the gender. I'm scared that the tech will get it wrong. Is that possible?"
Also, what point did we miss exactly? You are worried that the tech might guess wrong & you will have the opposite at birth, correct? What else were you trying to say?
Re: OJ etc to get baby "in the right position" : eat & drink normally the morning of your scan. The tech will have you try different positions or drink something cold/sweet if they want you to. If you get baby all jazzed on sugar or caffeine then it can make it very difficult to get any measurements at all. You would have to come back.
Also, please don't scream (all caps). We disagree. We aren't deaf or stupid.

The caps weren't to make any of u look deaf or stupid. I asked a question before and some people tend to assume I wouldn't be happy with what the sex was. I was asking a simple question if anyone experienced a situation where they found out it was a boy/girl and ended up being something else. Like I said before either way I am truly blessed and happy with whatever god gives me.
As for the flag situation that was not intended towards u so I apologize.

You can reverse your flag by loving the post. Nothing in the post you flagged was worthy of the flag. There should be a sticky reminder post at the top of the 2nd Trimester board that gives the rules/advice related to flagging. I understand it was not intended for me, but the reality is that the flag is not a dislike button.
I think part of why your OP was interpreted as you potentially being unhappy is because of the "worry the tech will get it wrong" type language. There is no wrong just luck of the draw on the guess. It's always a guess. So, my question still stands: "even if the situation you fear comes to pass, what would you do?"
Would you be shocked? Yes! Would you have some rearranging to do? Absolutely.
I can't remember screen names right now, but I know two people on my birth month boards that were told one sex. Then at birth there was a surprise.
Hopefully you get the posts detailing the experiences you wish to hear about. For what it's worth my techs have been right both times with both viable pregnancies. That is my experience.

It was intended toward me? While I might be biased (since it was my post), I don't think I said anything that violates TOS in any way. Or was even rude, actually. But it's not like I'm worried about getting banned for a false flag.
To OP, yes it's possible for the tech to get the sex wrong. And yes that would be a huge adjustment and might mess with your brain a bit. It happens though.

Everyone else already covered the health part of it.
If you are really that worried they could be wrong then just wait for the baby to be born. No mistaking genitals at that point.
OP, you can get banned for false flagging so knock it off.

2. For whom was it intended? I call bs.
Edited for grammar.
