Ugh.. Diaper issues

DS has never had diaper leaks before. We used pampers swaddlers up thru size 2 and once he reached size 3, swaddlers didn't fit his body right so we moved to pampers baby dry (supposed to be twelve hour) and they work fine.

DS has been STTN since about 6 weeks so he rarely needs a nighttime diaper change. However, ever since he started rolling, he'll sleep most of the night on his back or side, and then roll to his tummy 1-2 hours before he gets up. Unfortunately, that causes all of the pee that has collected in the front of his diaper to squish out the sides and top...and his clothes get soaked. I don't want to wake him for a diaper change if he doesn't wake on his own, but I don't want him to wake up soaked every morning.

Does anyone else have this problem? Did you find a solution?

  • We have the same problem but no solution! Will be reading the other responses to this.

  • Huggies work best for us....the ones with Mickey on them.
  • Buy 2 or 3 one size cloth diaper covers to go over your disposables at night.
  • Same problem here and we use the Huggies night time diapers. It doesn't happen every night, only when he pees a lot. He likes to sleep on his left side, so it always leaks out there.

  • J was leaking in both Pampers and Huggies. My DCP suggested Luvs. She said she found they seem to work best for little boys. Darn if she wasn't right. We've been in Luvs ever since.

We use Luvs for our everyday diaper, but since he sleeps 12 hours they did leak at night, so now we use Luvs during the day and Huggies Overnights (or whatever they are called) just for bed. No leaks since!

  • We used pampers for awhile snd then DD got to STTN and she would leak through those. We tried Luvs and they are amazing! Never had a problem and she can go 10-12 hours asleep and not need a change. Ive also been told to use one size up at night sand that should really help too.

  • DD leaked overnight all the time in Pampers & Huggies. What worked for us was the Target brand diapers. She very rarely leaks & they hold in her gross (teething) poops too. We started using them all the time and love them.

Same here. Though we've been using the Cruisers lately.

  • Looks like it's just going to be trial and error. He didn't turn last night so I got a reprieve. I got a box of the huggies overnights to try. If they don't work, we'll move onto the next. I thought about Target brand, my sis recommended those too, but I couldn't find a 12 hour one...they were all the same at the Target I went to. We'll see what the huggies do.

I also have a box of stuff from a friend that included a couple of cloth diapers, so I might try putting one over his disposable as was suggested by someone else.
