Just for fun: cravings!

Hi guys,

I thought it would be fun to hear what everyone's been craving so far.  Anyone have any really bizarre ones?!  I'm still really early but I've mostly wanted salty foods.  I normally want something sweet in the evenings after dinner but for the past few weeks it just hasn't sounded good to me.  Extra dinner, on the other hand, sounds great. :)

Re: Just for fun: cravings!

  • I am six weeks as well. Honestly, I have to admit that I have been craving anything unhealthy. From salty to sweet, I am craving it. HA! Have a great 6th week of pregnancy!
  • Loading the player...
  • Mostly salty and unhealthy things. I've also been craving a combo of something sour and sweet like lemonade and cookies. That's weird to me!
  • mini chocolate donuts.

I also have cravings for different random foods every day and then I get whatever it is, and it is completely disappointing. That, or I take a few bites and get disgusted/full and can't eat anymore.
  • Triscuits and sharp cheddar when craving salty, Oreo cookies and a tall glass of cold milk when I am craving sweets. Weird because I have never been a sweet eater or a milk drinker before but I have been LOVING it lately

  • I am just over 8 weeks and have had no particular cravings other than pancakes. But, I can no longer stand the thought of bacon! Odd because I would normally love a crispy piece. The sight of it now makes me want to throw up :'(
  • Avocado! Especially on top of a very large spinach salad! I'm just thankful my craving is healthy, When I had my son I craved Ben & Jerry's Half Baked Peace Pops-Probably why he came out at 9lbs 4 oz!

  • Anything cheesy at the moment. Also anything salt & vinegar flavoured. I'm really off sweet things though. I haven't eaten dessert in weeks. I can't remember the last time I did. The only sweet thing I eat is my morning cereal.

  • Ugh, me too! Bacon was my one, true love. Now, the smell of it makes me want to hurl.
  • My weirdest is that one day I had a random craving for Cheetos, which I had not eaten in 15+ years.  Now I want olives, avocado, and cheeseburgers.  I ate olives at 5:30 in the morning the other day.

  • Nothing really. I'm pretty early though.

  • I have to avoid gluten so it's harder for me just to pick something up.  I always have torilla chips on hand and as with my first daughter 25 years ago, I find myself making microwave nachos with cheddar/jack cheese.  I did make a gluten free cake and substituted all oil and egg with mashed naners and it was so good and YES I ate the whole thing by myself.

I have been eating a lot of mixed green salads with chicken breast that I smother in Frank's Red Hot.  Down by my bed I have a big bag of candy corn - my ultimate weakness even NOT pregnant - and dry roasted peanuts.

I think I have really been wanting mashed potatoes, as far as something I really, really want.
  • Salad dressed with Makotos Ginger dressing. Yummy!

Oddly enough, my raisin bran is way to sweet for me now.

I'm gluten free too! I have celiac. I was really worried that I'd crave gluten foods and struggle mightily (because a true pregnancy craving is freaking intense) but so far with this & my last pregnancy, I was fine. I can always make whatever it is I'm craving.

  • I've got a mad craving for bread all the time.  It seems like it's about the only thing I can keep down now too and I'm only 6 weeks.  I'm really sad that all my favorite foods are the ones that make me queasy now... like spinach (unless in spinach artichoke dip!) and deep fried stuff.  I actually had to quit my job because that's all I was ever around :[ (I was a line cook at perkins).  Oh!  I also can't stand the thought of cheesecake anymore either and that is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE thing in the entire world :'(
