though i'm not going to be 12 weeks until this upcoming tuesday, my RE was telling me at my discharge appointment that women who have good looking ultrasounds with normal growth and placement, etc at 12 weeks only have a ONE PERCENT chance of losing the baby at that point. 1%!! that felt so encouraging to hear

I've read a heartbeat detected at 8 weeks drops you down to 3-5% as well. I got that relief a week ago, but I can't wait until my 12 week appt relief!!! Good to know!

Yay! That is great news, 12 weeks on Friday and have had 2 good ultrasounds. Finally feel like I can start telling people and planning for a baby in April!

I had an ultrasound with good heartbeat at 7 weeks and the doctor told me I'm 95% percent safe. (Obviously I was earlier than you so it's a little lower if a percentage) But still wonderful to hear! I'll take some 95%!

That is reassuring. I've had two good ultrasounds and an appointment on Tuesday (no u/s) where I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat. I will be 12 weeks on Thursday! It's so exciting to have made it this far. Good luck on everyone's appointments next week.

I've got 3 days till I hit 12 weeks, and 5 until my next ultrasound. I'm ready. I don't feel like I'll be in the "safe zone" until my ultrasound even though I've seen the baby three times, and heard the heartbeat on doppler a week and a half ago. It will be nice to be in a safer place.

Don't have my next u/s until I'm almost 15 weeks but guess I'm doing good since my appointments went from every week to four weeks. Hope all you ladies have great 12 week check ups!

NT scan Thursday, 12w appt on Friday (I'll be 11w5d & 11w6d respectively). Can I just sleep till Thursday? Would that be frowned upon?

Thank you do much for sharing this! I will be 12 weeks on Tuesday. I had my first OB appointment yesterday and everything looked good. I even got to have a "surprise" ultrasound because the dr couldn't pick up the baby's heartbeat with the Doppler. It's crazy how much it has changed since my 7 wk ultrasound! It actually looks like a baby now!

I'm anxiously awaiting 12 weeks, but even then, I will find it hard to totally relax until about 20 weeks. I know that losing Henrietta was a one in a million situation and that particular reason will never happen again, but I'm still nervous. I have a checkup scheduled for this coming Wednesday, and as long as our doctor can detect the baby's heartbeat with the doppler easily, I will keep my cool. Also, on Wednesday, we'll schedule our NT scan for sometime in the next 2 weeks - that will also help a lot.

@wifeofacomposer even if they can't pick it up with the Doppler (they couldn't with my lo last week at 10w 4d) I'm sure they will do an ultrasound and you will have some peace of mind.

11 weeks for me tomorrow, NT scan on Thursday. So anxious! In part because its been 5 weeks since my U/S so i feel like i need some reassurance that theres actually a baby growing inside me. Feels like the weeks last forever between appointments. I hope as time goes on it begins to feel more real.

I`m no longer considering statistics because I lost my baby at 31 weeks..when everyone said that it`s going to be just fine, and there is " basically no risk". Right...

I just want to pass through the whole pregnancy and give birth to a healthy baby.

Sorry for your loss

I completely agree with you, my mum lost her baby at 8 months. There is no such thing as 'no risk' just hoping for a happy healthy pregnancy for myself and everyone here!
