November 2013 Moms

Okay, this is getting a little ridiculous

This pregnancy has been so different from my first one. With DD I was sick for the first 14 weeks and felt perfectly amazing after that. A little swelling at the end but I was never this uncomfortable.

With this baby, no morning sickness, but I'm so uncomfortable, constant heartburn, acid reflux, preterm labor, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, you name it.

I feel like I'm constantly coming down with some other ache and pain, haha. I love being pregnant and can't wait for DS to get here, but if he crushes my sciatic nerve ONE more time, I might cut my legs off.

Or maybe ill cry while watching a breaking bad marathon and eating a pint of pumpkin pie ice cream.

  • I know exactly how you feel. I slept more after my first was born than I did while I was pg. I'm think people expect us to be part bear and to hibernate the last 12 flipping weeks of pregnancy so we can be awake so much. Crazy sauce, I tell ya!

  • This is my 4th pregnancy and they were all pretty different from each other! The 2nd and 3rd pregnancy (which were the closest) were most alike, though I suffered terrible RLP and an allergic reaction to laundry detergent with my 2nd that didn't bother me with my 3rd.. But each pregnancy had unique symptoms all throughout, this 4th being the worst! (Though I'm much older this time around...) ;)
  • Please tell me where to find the ice cream!!!

  • From Google search, looks like Turkey Hill or Perry's. I'm not familiar with either brand. I'm going to be devastated if this is a not-sold-in-the-south thing!

  • Ben and Jerry's! I thin Haagen Dazs might also make some, but for the past two years I've gotten the Ben and Jerry's. it's hard to find before October but my local Walmart has it :). It's delicious!

  • Publix had a pumpkin pie ice cream last year. Not sure if its out again?
  • With DD1 I was sick the first 13 weeks got a little uncomfortable at the end... This one was sick the first 18-19 weeks now its heartburn (which I had with DD1, but this time way worse) and every ache and pain you can think of... My doctor says its because this time around I'm chasing a toddler around and that will take a toll on anyone's body then add being pregnant! Good luck!!!
  • Is it sad that the major thing I'm taking from this is that pumpkin pie ice cream exists?

Not sad at all...I may interrupt football and send my husband for said ice cream!!! Yummy!!!
  • I vaguely remember that Baskin-Robbins used to carry some.  But it's been a while, so I'm not positive.

  • I found that ice cream last year in all the major supermarkets near me.  Think it was Turkey Hill.  Honestly, I wasn't crazy about it.  The first few bites were really good but it got old kind of quick.  And I'm a really big ice cream fan!

Oh and OP - I hear ya on the aches and pains this time around being worse.  My pregnancy with DS was so easy.  This one hasn't been to bad either, but I am definitely waaay more achy!
