Newborn Fever Temp?

Even though this is my second time around and my pedi went over this at our first visit, I can't remember what constitutes a fever for a newborn. I found some conflicting things online. I thought it was 100.4? Also, we have always done under the arm with our LOs and again, I can't remember if you add a degree. DS is at 99.0 under his arm right now and feels warm which is why I checked. Thoughts?

I agree with 100.4. Our L&D nurse says infants tend to run a little bit warmer than 98.6, so it's not a huge leap, but I do remember 100.4.

Yes add a degree for an axle temp.

100.4 and I'd say take the rectal temp for accuracy

Axle is how our nicu did it, and our pedi told us it was best. Guess its different for every dr.
