PB Anywhere Chair vs. Ugly-Where Chair?

I have seen that a lot of people on this board are getting their LO PB "Anywhere Chair"...personally I can't see spending the $$$ right now, it's not really in our budget. For those of you who have heard of the "Ugly-Where Chair", is it really that different from the original PB chair? Anyone have any experience with it?

I have the Ugly-where chair. The slip cover is from Pottery Barn, the tag even says so, so that is no different. I have not compared the insert to the PB, but the Ugly Where insert is perfect and I can not imagine the PB being any better. The only thing that I liked about PB more was their bigger selection. If they were the same price I would have gotten a PB because they had my favorite one, but I found one on Ugly Sofa that I liked almost as much, and I could not justify paying twice as much for one that I liked just slightly more.

If you follow them on FB they will have 20% off coupon codes! I got mine for $55 because of the coupon code.

ETA: What does RIO mean?

My good friend has one of each for her boys and they have both worn the same. No difference. They are both still in great condition after years of boy abuse.

I have never even heard of the uglywear chair and there's no way I'll spend the money on the PB chair (I thought about it for about 5 minutes about a year ago for DS1, but that was about it). My grandma picked up a small chair for DS1 at a garage sale and honestly, he never sits in it. DS2 climbs around on it sometimes, but for the most part, it just sits in the family room untouched.

If I HAD to get either, I'd get the cheaper one (b/c I'm cheap). LOL

I found a bean bag chair in the shape of 1 of these chairs at target for $30, I was going to get it but DH would kill me, just an FYI they had a cool pink 1 as well

I went with RIO because we have the uglywhere chair. I don't know if there's a big difference because I've never seen the other. But I can tell you that it is adorable and Aria pretty much just uses it to climb onto the couch at this point. Sometimes she cuddles up in it.

I think It originated from a poll on Parenting. I think someone said SS didn't make any sense so why not just say something random like Rio? And so it started being subbed in for SS. I could be pulling that out of my ass, though. Lol.

Yes, you can just take it off and wash it, there is a zipper. I want to still hear from those who voted yes!

Yes it can come apart to be washed. We have the PBK one for Jack from a couple of years ago. It actually comes disassembled-foam pieces and the cover.

We have the Anywhere Chair for all 3 kids and they love them. They got them for Christmas from my parents, but I would have bought them even if they hadn't. I don't know what the uglywhere chair even is, but I can tell you that I think the Anywhere Chair is worth it. We've had Carter's for 5 years and it looks exactly the same as the day we bought it.

So, while I can't compare the two, I do recommend the Anywhere Chair.

That's not THAT much of a price difference then, is it? I thought the PB ones were around $70 as well.

My aunt's best friend is a manager at PBK and always offers to let me use her 40% discount. I was planning to take her up on it and get the PB one for DD for Christmas.

I'll put in a vote for Pottery Barn Kids chair. Not because I think one is higher quality than the other, but I didn't like any of the choices I found with the Ugly-Where Chair. I figure that was our only gift for Kate, so I wanted it to be exactly what wanted color-wise (which was grey and white polka dot, or I would have done the all white sherpa chair too).

I just looked them up too. I was way off on price - the UWC is like 1/2 the price of the PB one. But I don't like the idea that you have to just "take what they have" in terms of monograms. That's weird. Not that they NEED to have it monogrammed, but you know.

You don't have to take what they have already monogrammed. They are $10 less than having one monogrammed. They have many choices. I happened to find one I liked already monogrammed.

@tonir319 I got G the regular size UWC and there is plenty of room to grow into it.

We bought one for N for her birthday. She sits in it constantly. Climbs on it, puts her toys in it, etc. I could not get on board with spending $110 for a PBK one. To me it just wasn't worth it. My SIL has a PBK, there's no difference in size, style, anything. They're cute chairs...with the FB discount of 20%, I think we paid $30 or something for the anywhere chair. We bought the mini one, since I wasn't sure exactly how "mini" it was going to be.

@tonir319 we just went to PBK on Sunday and looked at the Anywhere chairs.
The mini is super small and the sales woman recommended getting the regular size. Regular is a little big now, but it would give DS some room to snuggle into it & room to grow.

@mamatobeNJ- The regular sized ones are $129-139. The one I got is $139 plus $7 for personalization on PB (ugly sofa does that for free), so mine was almost a third the price. I think the mini ones start at $89 or something like that, Uglysofa sells those for $39 I believe.
