DD was 6lbs 10 oz at birth, 20.5 inches long. If you had a similar sized baby, when did they fit nicely into 0-3 mos? We were told all along to expect a 9-10 lb baby, so I don't have any newborn outfits.
You might want to get some newborn clothes. I had to go out and get some too. He didn't grow out of them until he was 2 months. He started out at 7.10.
Ian was 6lbs 14oz 19-3/4" and fit premie, he's now 8lbs 20-1/2" and most 0-3 are still too big, NB finally fits him.

DS grew out of newborn in about 3 weeks...he was 6lbs 1oz and last week was 9lbs 11oz.
Finally after 15 months and 2 IUI's we have our gorgeous baby boy!
Born Nov. 13th @ 9:09am after 29 hours of labor!
6 lbs 1 oz 20 inches long
My little angel born Jan 9th, 2010 at 9:54pm after 25 hours of labor!
7lbs 4 oz 20 inches long
I have a 7 week old but she is really long so she out grew her nb stuff at about 2 weeks ago. I only bought a few blanket sleepers and just washed them alot. SHe mainly wore long sleeved t-shirts and receiving blankets anyway.
Our DS was 7lbs 6oz, 20.5 and quit swimming in his clothes by 4wks. He's probably just shy of 10lbs now and at least 22in. and still fits in all of his smallest clothes except a couple of his 0-3 Gerber onesies won't go over his head anymore and his 0-3 Gerber sleepers are just now too short.
DS was 8lbs. 2oz, and 22 inches and fit in newborn for like 2 weeks. Then we moved on to 0-3, and I swear he was in thoese for a month, now he is 6 months because he is SO LONG
DS was the same size as your LO. Honestly, I just put him in 0-3 month clothes even though they were big, because I didn't want to buy more stuff. His onesies gapped and I rolled up his pant legs. Of course, he was born October 1, so it was still warm where we live.
I'd say he started to "fit" his 0-3 around 1 month. They were still too big, but he didn't look like he was swimming in them. He's almost 3 months, and some of his 0-3 are still too big! (Some of them are too small, depending on the brand)
