Hi, I'm actually visiting from the 12-24 board... I have a 19 month old who is showing signs of being ready to pt. I was thinking of staying home a few days next week and giving it a shot... does anyone have anything they can offer in the way of advice/experience? I'd really appreciate input! Thanks

Re: potty training
My almost three year old son loves it when I put blue dye in the little potty so that when he pees in it, it turns green. We started with just getting him to go first thing in the morning since he could hold it all night and was ready to release it first thing. He is still working on it, but now we are just sitting on it every hour and if he pees, he gets to put a star on a piece of paper that tracks when he goes. If he doesn't pee, he still gets praised for sitting on the potty and I tell him next time he goes he will get a sticker. I feel no rush to train him so we have been following his lead and been doing this process for a few weeks now. I'm sure there are likely quicker ways, but he used to be afraid of the potty, so I am trying to keep it a stress-free event for him.
