HA even though this has been discussed until I'm blue in the face and DS asks to go in his crib at home she still rocks and holds him. He's 15 months! At 10-13 it caused HUGE problems at home. He's just finally figured out great grandma's house is different.
He sleeps in a pack n play at their houses. We see the boys' grandparents so infrequently living 500 miles away that whatever they want to do to get him to bed is fine, as long as they get him to sleep. My parents tend to follow our routine but my MIL rocks him and sings to him. I know my MIL enjoys rocking him and cuddling with him and I'm usually just thankful for the break and that she loves my kids like she does.
Ohh yea. PP made think maybe you are talking about over nights. DS naps at great grams because she watches him two days a week while I'm at work. He's never spent the night there. At my mom's and DH's mom's for over night he sleeps in a PnP in spare bedrooms and he goes down for bed without any issues.
At my mom's house he sleeps in a pack n play. At MIL's house he sleeps in bed with us because there's barely enough room for a bed in the bedroom, let alone any other furniture.
she sleeps in a crib but she knows it isn't her bed- so she constantly stands and sits up and wants to play...even though she's exhausted. my mom's is like the black hole of naps and sleeping. DD just doesn't want to!
