discolored gums

I have been brushing my sons teeth every other night or so for the past month.  I just noticed last night that a piece of his gum that is next to his front tooth is a greyish color? I look at his teeth almost every day because of how badly teething he is and I just noticed this last night.  Anyone know what this is?  I have a call into the dr and have taken a picture of it to show her.

Re: discolored gums

  • It might be the tooth about to cut through.

  • my son has a dark grey spot on his upper gum right now also... right above the tooth line of his top front tooth. for a couple days i thought he had a speck of pepper from dinner stuck. then when he was sleeping i got a better look and it looks more like an actual spot. im just watching it right now.... hoping he just bruised it cause he chews on everything imaginable.  if it changes or if its still there when he goes to the dr for his 1 yr in 2 weeks, i'll show them.

  • I called the doctor it is a blood vessel that will break through once his tooth comes out..so weird!
