I wear my baby and STILL can't get anything done

I have a Moby. I put him in it then say to myself, "Okay. Do all that stuff you never get to do." Then I take it off and put him in his swing.

What do you do while wearing your baby. Don't tell me "everything," 'cause that doesn't make sense to me. ;)

  • Now that she's bigger I can wear her on my back while cooking, ironing or cutting fabric (to sew), but she usually prefers to be on the floor. When she was tiny I'd put her in the moby and do laundry, dishes, supper prep, sweeping, vacuuming and tidying. Things with a lot of bending, like vacuuming stairs, I waited til DH could take her. I did all my bill paying and bump posting while nursing. That meant that sleeping time was mostly mine rather than having housework to do.

  • Take the dog for a walk, do dishes, make a smoothie, put away laundry.

So far I dont think Ive mastered wearing her to the point that I feel like I can "do everything". I definitely put her in her swing to cook, take out trash, clean litterboxes.. but I dont think Id want her on top of me for that stuff anyway.

  • Not so much now that he's a fully functioning toddler, but when he was an itty bitty I'd wear him and do laundry (both putting it in the wash and folding it), washing dishes, putting away dishes, some cooking (depending on what it was - nothing involving opening the oven), walking the dog, going to the grocery store, cleaning the house (dusting, sweeping, cleaning counters, washing windows, putting things away), writing thank you notes, emails - I actually got more done when he was tiny and not asking me to play all the time or creating a small disaster area of his own!

  • Laundry, walking the dog, and vacuuming are my main chores accomplished while wearing her, as well as any errands (I prefer to walk places rather than drive, and where I live this is very possible).

  • I made a bunch if sides for thanksgiving when DS2 was a newborn. Washing dishes, light cleaning, walks, drinking coffee, wasting time on the interwebs, etc. etc.
    DS1 - Feb 2008

    DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)

  • Once DS was old enough to be on my back, could get so much more done. With him on my front, I really could only do laundry and sweeping/dusting.
