It's bad here. If you haven't seen it yet the flooding is unreal. Our house is ok for now but our water treatment is shut down. My brother and a lot of friends have been evacuated.

We're ok. Some areas to the north and west of us are not doing great. One town has been cut off for almost 2 days and is now being evacuated by the National Guard. University of Colorado has been shut down and they've had to evacuate some of the residence halls. Estes Park is almost cut off and the downtown is flooded (Estes Park is where the Stanley hotel is located).

Thanks all. Water is back on and it was dry most of the afternoon but everything is so saturated that even a little rain tonight will be really bad.

We made it through the night. Still have power and water too. And the forecast is not too bad for the weekend.

My brother is not so lucky. He & his FI and their dog & 2 cats are in a hotel. My friend is a flight-for-life medic and took this pic from his helicopter yesterday - my brother's neighborhood is on the left. They can't even make it down to stay with us or my Mom b/c so many roads are shut down.

We went out tonight for our anniversary. Our friends were having their annual Oktoberfest (early b/c they're going this year). Wet but so much fun & way too much good beer.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you, your family and friends. I learned first hand how stressful flooding can be during Hurricane Sandy. Although my house wasn't flooded (we just needed a new roof) and we had power through most of it, we had friends loose everything. Most of our neighborhood was flooded and without power for weeks. Many homes are gone and some are still not cleaned out 10 months later. It's horrifying.

I'm so glad for you that you got to go and celebrate something happy with friends. I hope they find all the unaccounted for people and that the weather clears soon. Good luck!
