Mommy and Me Classes

So I was trying to widen my group of friends with kids and want to have DS socialize a bit more but I can't seem to find anything in my area. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would try a local board but there is no board for UT and I am starting to think that because church is so big here that, that might be where all the moms meet eachother so there is no reason to have classes like that. I have looked at the local rec center, library, and there is no Gymboree or kindermusic classes or anything that I can find. How did you guys go about finding classes or something to do outside of your normal circle with your kid?

Are there not storytimes at your local library? I'm a children's librarian & see lots of friendships struck up during the ones I host.

Do you have Gymboree or My Gym near you? Both are great ways to meet other moms.

My DS is a bit wiggly for storytimes right now, when I try to read to him all he does is try to eat the book.

And no, we have neither of those, I don't live in a huge town but they don't seem to feel the need to have anything like that.

Our YMCA has some Mommy and Me classes. Mostly things like swimming lessons, yoga, and music and motion type classes. Theres loads more once they hit about 1 year as well (things like tumbling and such). Our library also does some story times and things as well. If those aren't an option for you then Amazon has a really cute Mommy and Me yoga DVD that I do with the kids.

Not sure where in Utah you are, but we love our class at "The Music Class" and go every week. It says they have 2 locations if you check their website.
