Carrying my LO is seriously starting to give me back spasms.. I stopped using the Moby and Infantino. And he hates the Ergo.
He is 6 months old almost 27 inches and 22 lbs. I heard the Boba (?) is specially designed to carry heavier loads and put the brunt of the weight on the hips so I may try that. Any other recommendations though
Re: Carrier for chunky butt baby

I made my own mai tai. You can find some online, or a toddler Tula or Kinderpack would probably be a good fit for you too. I'd look into a mai tai because you can adjust the straps easily and add more support under the bum. You should also look into learning a back carry vs front carry. If you don't have him up high enough, that will stress your back more too. Here's mine I made, ignore my frown face and unkept hair.
You can see it's wide enough to accommodate a toddler as they get bigger. You aren't supposed to use Moby over 15 lbs and Ergos don't accommodate a toddler or bigger kid very well.
Here's a pic I was looking for! It's a comparison of some of the carriers and their sizes with a bigger kid in them.
Yes, Bobas have foot straps!
You should look on fb and see if you have a local babywearing group. Ours has a lending library so you can try before you buy.
