Dont worry you will be fine! Im terrified too mine is Dec 11 I had one naturally so I dont have a clue what im in for! But all will be ok the actually birthing process is super fast and then you will be so distracted by babies you wont have time to be scared anymore! and its over before you know it. They are so used to people being nervous so they will talk you down and keep you nice and calm. Just think your this close to holding these babies!!

Mine really wasn't as bad as I feared. I got really nervous in the OR but once I realized that I wouldn't feel anything I was fine, even laughing a little during surgery. 2 weeks later and I feel great, much more comfortable than the latter part of my pregnancy. You'll be fine!
You will be ok. It was a bit rough for me because I didn't feel good during my csection (felt very hot and nauseous). But, it was quick and over before I knew it. All I could think about were my sweet babies. Once I was allowed to get out of bed it was pretty tough. I felt like an old lady and couldn't stand up straight. I relied on my husband and the nurses to help with the babies, change their diapers and bring them to me to nurse. I felt better and better every day. Be sure to talk with your OB about what to expect. The only thing I wasn't happy about was how long it took for me to finally hold them. They never left my side which I was very happy about. Good luck!!
I was terrified of a c/s. I had a vaginal delivery with my first so I didn't know what to expect. It wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The recovery has been a bit harder but I also got my tubes tied so that could be part of it. I'm 8 days out and each day gets easier. In a way I'm glad I had a semi-planned c/s because it felt much more controlled than a vaginal with a chance of an emergency c/s would have been.
I was terrified also but it turned out to be all for nothing. It was really a total breeze and mine was an emergency one at that. No pain, easy recovery and beautiful babies. I couldn't have asked for anything more. During the actual procedure don't be afraid if you start trembling, it's totally normal, they might even have you wear oxygen but again that's totally normal. Afterward be sure to take the offered pain medicine (and ask for any additional that you may need if you feel like you need it). Don't try to be a tough guy about it right away, you can switch to Motrin or something after a day or two but you may really want something stronger at least at first. Because you'll likely be on narcotic pain medicine for a day or two be sure you ask for a stool softener. I suppose that's the one thing I would do differently. Once there are no longer two babies pushing on everything your digestive tract goes all wonky. Take the stool softeners! Your body will thank you. Lastly, walk as soon as they tell you it's okay and walk often. It may not feel great but it's super important. It will help you heal faster, will help your digestive tract get back to normal faster and will also help prevent any rare complications like blood clots. It will be totally fine, good luck!

Hang in there girls, they aren't so bad. I am recovering from my second one right now, my girls are two weeks old tomorrow. The thought of surgery is worse than the actual event and they are pretty quick. Mine took a bit longer this time, as they tied my tubes as well. Just remember to watch what you lift, listen to your body and just snuggle those beautiful babies afterward. Good luck!
Thank you ladies for your words of encouragement & peace. It does make me feel better. I had my DD vaginally, so I guess it's the unknown thats scary. The thought of being cut open & having to juggle twins and a toddler feels overwhelming but I know I was made to do it. I'm just hoping & praying for a smooth & quick recovery. Thank you all, again!
I had one with my first as well. It wasnt too bad at all!! I was really nervous about the spinal but it was pretty quick and then you feel numb. I will second the suggestion of walking as soon as you can. I swear this really helped my recovery!!!! They had me do laps around the nurses station every few hours and I did them everyday I was there. It helps not to get stiff. It will be painful at first but the walking gets easier. Good luck, you will do great!!

Like the pps, I was just so nervous about having a c-section and especially about not being in any shape to care for my new babies, but all came out fine! I read up on the c-section forum and kinda had some ideas as to what to expect, which was quite helpful. As it turns out my water broke early and while waiting to get the c-section I started having contractions, so much so that getting the spinal was an awesome experience--the pain was gone immediately. The girls were safely and quickly delivered within 20 minutes if the spinal, reeeeeeal easy. It was very hard being patient in recovery & receiving texts from my husband with pictures of the girls while waiting to get feeling back in my legs & I had a fair amount of nausea the first 24 hours, but what was most helpful for me was keeping my focus 100% on being there for those babies. For me, I'd say overall not bad at all, probably easier than a hard long labor. Oh, and the scar is low enough that I can still wear almost any bikini bottom I want, just FYI... Good luck to you!!!
I was also terrified! And I had no idea I would have a c-section at 30 weeks after a routine OB appt. Being unprepared may have been best for me because I didn't have much time to obsess over it. The actual c-section was not too bad. I was scared. But the team doing the c-sections do them all day! LOL They were awesome.
It felt like I couldn't breathe deeply/freely during the surgery. But they forewarned me that it may feel like that. And I had a pain in my chest and shoulder thay scared me but it was all normal. I couldn't even move my toes afterwards. But over time the numbness wore off and I could start moving my toes/feet/legs. I agree about getting up and moving as soon as they ask you to. I was going up to the NICU to see my babies and that helped motivate me. Plus I have a 2 and 4 year old at home. Ain't nobody got time to be laid up from havin' babies! LOL
Mostly, keep your eye on the prize! Let people help you. Stay positive and take your pain meds when they are due! Try to keep an eye on the time you take your meds. My nurses were awful about remembering! I woke up the 2nd morning after the c-sec and had no pain relief, at all! I was hurting!
I was very nervous when I got into the OR while they prepped me. I had DH talk to me about anything except what was happening ... Overall it wasn't bad at all! You shouldn't be scared! I won't be at all next time. Recovery was tough for a few days but after a few weeks I really felt nothing, just baby happiness.

Ladies!!!! Thank you for your stories. I am hoping having been in the OR before & being strapped down and the whole 9yards will help with nerves. Hearing the recovery goes by & for some isn't as nightmare-ish as I've imagined really has helped ease my mind. Thank you alllll!!!!
