How many "changes" are in your stash?

We have an international move coming up and my daughter will likely be potty training soon, so I've just typed a spreadsheet up of our entire stash and what I've spent on it to get an idea of what we should ship with us and what we should go ahead and sell...and well, I'm a bit stunned at just how many diapers we've managed to accumulate and just how much I've spent (over 80 changes when you count inserts/prefolds...eek!!) I have so many inserts for AI2s and prefolds that this alone could make up our entire stash and I still wouldn't run out before laundry day, so I'm contemplating selling some of our AIOs (which I am no longer a fan of) and pockets. Before I do, I thought I'd take a quick informal poll to get an idea of what everyone else considers a reasonable amount of changes to have in a stash. Want to play along and answer some or all of these questions? No offense taken if you don't want to answer the question about how much you've spent...not sure I'm brave enough to admit that myself at the moment!

2) Counting inserts and prefolds along with all of your diapers, how many changes do you have in your stash before you run out of diapers to put on your baby/babies?
3) Around how much do you think you've spent in total on your stash?

1. One newborn so far!

2. Changes in all: 81

Fit at birth: 34 changes

Will fit next: 39

One size/will fit a ways later: 29

(12 NB PFs, 12 small PFs, 21 NB fitteds, 6 P&Ns, 1 NB AIO, 7 covers

25 OS pockets, 4 fitteds)

So, I never have more than 39 that fit simultaneously. I never go through all of them before doing laundry, though, more like 20.

3. I've spent about $600 on diapers alone. More on other supplies. And I've gotten some as gifts/free diapers. I'm pretty happy with that and don't plan to buy a lot more unless I sell some I currently have.

2) Counting inserts and prefolds along with all of your diapers, how many changes do you have in your stash before you run out of diapers to put on your baby/babies? 40ish (Although about 5 of those are ones we hate and never use. Guess we ought to sell, but they are cute!
3) Around how much do you think you've spent in total on your stash? Under $500

1) How many kids are you cloth diapering at the moment? One right now. Hoping to TTC in the next few months & add to my stash.
2) Counting inserts and prefolds along with all of your diapers, how many changes do you have in your stash before you run out of diapers to put on your baby/babies? 12 prefolds, 4 fitteds with 3 covers in rotation for them, 13 aplix pockets for DC, 5 AI2 with 15 inserts, and one AIO. So I guess that means 44 changes. I wash EOD. I also have 6 AC covers that are too small that I'm keeping for possible future baby.
3) Around how much do you think you've spent in total on your stash? $600 ish.

1. One Newborn so far! 2. We have about 37 changes including mostly pockets, handful of aio's and 12 prefolds. 3. I've only spent around 200$ (possibly a little more) because a lot of stuff was bought by very excited grandmas and grandpas. Our stash is probably "worth" over $800 though

2) Counting inserts and prefolds along with all of your diapers, how many changes do you have in your stash before you run out of diapers to put on your baby/babies? 29 OS Dipes (about 1/3 AIOs and 2/3 Pockets)
3) Around how much do you think you've spent in total on your stash? I paid for my first diaper today. Besides that, I've just purchased wetbags and CD safe cream. We had very generous baby shower gifts and lots of store credit. Maybe $150, if that...

CDing one kid. 24 infant prefolds, 8 flats, 8 random pockets, 24 Rumparooz pockets, 10 Grovia shells and about 20 inserts, 7 Best Bottoms shells and 20-ish inserts. So assuming they were all pee diapers and I could reuse covers, I've got over 100 changes. Holy crap.... I have absolutely no idea how much I've spent. I do a lot of swaps and buying used.

50 aio
5 pockets
5 covers
36 nb, 24 small, 6 med, 12 toddler prefolds

So a lot! I bought 16 of the AIOs used... And I'll likely sell them. If I find more of what I like. Or am daring enough to try something new. But I'm a weirdo and like everything to be the same. But I like having that many for drying time.

One kid and stopped keeping track. It's for the better I'm sure.

Oh, thank you! I was beginning to feel terrible that so many people had limited their spending to 500 or 600 dollars! I've churned a lot so have always had diapers leaving as I've bought others.....so my total output after subtracting what I've sold is around $1400 at the moment (the total spent before selling some was around $1900, which kind of makes my jaw drop!) I also live in the UK, where diapers are more expensive, so that probably explains some of the expense...

Oh, thank you! I was beginning to feel terrible that so many people had limited their spending to 500 or 600 dollars! I've churned a lot so have always had diapers leaving as I've bought others.....so my total output after subtracting what I've sold is around $1400 at the moment (the total spent before selling some was around $1900, which kind of makes my jaw drop!) We CD cuz we like it and not to save money. Though once Cade id PT and we decide to stop having kids we'll sell them all and make a few hundred back.

One full time (5.5 months), one overnight only (3 years)

2) Counting inserts and prefolds along with all of your diapers, how many changes do you have in your stash before you run out of diapers to put on your baby/babies?
32 newborn pockets (I've retired most of my Alva NB pockets right now though.)
38 OS diapers (32 pockets, 6 AIOs)
This gives me 64 changes for my baby right now.

Then for my 3 yo overnight I have 2 Kissa's trainers, 1 flip potty training kit, 6 sunbaby trainers, and 1 alva big baby. I have enough diapers/inserts for 9 nights.

I think I may have gone a tad overboard, especially since I wanted to CD to save $$.

3) Around how much do you think you've spent in total on your stash?
$900 (I started a spreadsheet a while back.) I've saved $160 over full price though!

Yes, I must admit, it is more of a hobby for me at the moment than a means to save money. Doing the math, we are still saving money now that we have a second child, though I think my goal with my daughter was to just break even and not spend more than the cost of disposables! I'm still a bit stunned at just how much I have invested into our stash...I keep thinking about how much of that money could have gone into my OTHER obsession (babywearing/woven wraps!)

I feel ya there! I've turned to making my own carriers to try to save money. I think I'd be super poor if I had every pretty KP, Babyhawk, and Didy there was out there.

2) Counting inserts and prefolds along with all of your diapers, how many changes do you have in your stash before you run out of diapers to put on your baby/babies? 12 outgrown prefolds, 4 pockets, 18 BB inserts, and a few homemade ones so about 30ish currently and when my mom gets don sewing I will probably have 25-50 more changes for when he outgrows his current supply.

3) Around how much do you think you've spent in total on your stash? approx. $250 about $300-350 when Mom finishes the others since she is using old scraps and other materials from around her house.

Diapering one 3 month old. We have 2 aios, 2ai2s, I think 7 pockets, 38ish prefolds, 6 flats , and 6 covers that fit at the moment plus 1 dozen outgrown prefolds and 2 outgrown covers. I've spent I think about 250-300 on cding stuff including snappis, wetbags, etc

Sbish is the cheapest fitted I own. I want to order a Happy Little Cloud OBV though. They look so cute and comfy.

I felt one in a store a couple weeks ago. SO soft. I'm thinking about getting a cute pricey fitted for bram's stocking for Christmas. Any other time, my husband might think I'm crazy!

I feel so much better about ordering a few hundred dollar's worth within a month or two's time to start my stash! And adding bulk to it that I would love to have but don't NEED.

So the movers have estimated it will take 9 to 13 weeks for all of our stuff to reach us...which means, I either try to carry my ENTIRE stash in a suitcase with us on the flight or be without our diapers for all of that time. Eeek! I'm contemplating selling off some of what isn't essential / our least favorites so we can carry the rest with us on the plane and then using that as an excuse to purchase more once we get to the US. Bonus: diapers are SO much cheaper over there!

1. One in cloth currently. DS1 decided to night train when DS2 was 2 weeks old.

2. We are a one size pocket family so that is our entire stash. We have just shy of 40 pockets. We have a ton of extra inserts and doublers though.

3. I think we've spent about $800 total but that was including the stash from DS1 as that is mostly what we are using for DS2. I did have to add in a few used diapers this time around as a few delaminated during our diaper days with DS1.
