Hip dysplasia

Anyone have any experience with it? DD was just diagnosed today at 4 months. She is in the pavlik harness 23+ hours a day. I am still a little in shock about it. I know it isn't a huge deal and prognosis for normal development is great, but I really wasn't expecting there to be anything found at this appointment.

If anyone has dealt with the logistics of the harness, I would love some advice. I am concerned about trying to keep it clean. I guess I also need to find her some leggings since she can't really wear pants in the harness. Glad I didn't buy much for pants yet in 6 month size.

Re: Hip dysplasia

  • @Molly& thanks for the tips - especially about cleaning the harness. She has had it less than a week and it already is starting to look grubby. I wonder why they make the dumb thing in a light cream color that shows all dirt?! The first day was definitely the hardest, just because it was unexpected. Little girl is handling it really well so far, other than sleep being a little rough because we had to quit the swaddle sack cold turkey. I ordered her some baby leg warmers to wear with the harness, so hopefully that works until it gets really cold. Glad your daughters are doing so well!
