"Copy cats": flattering or annoying?

I think depending on who and what, most of the time though, ANNOYING. I go through the effort of researching, deciding, debating, whatever, and then some assbag rolls around and just buys or does something very eerily similar to what you've just done.

So petty, I know but I'm just curious as to what everyone else thinks.

what are your thoughts? Do you agree that copying should be seen as flattering?

I don't know why but I very rarely find it flattering. Makes me sound like a huge bitch. meh..

I find it annoying. I have a friend who is constantly copying her sister-in-law in all party aspects with the kids. My friends sister-in-law threw her two girls a flower and butterfly birthday party at the end of may which was way adorable and then my friend threw the same theme party for her 3 year old the end of June. It was almost like de ja vu. Also this same friend told me it was a shame that her other daughter's birthday is in December because she loves my pumpkin patch idea for Wesley's b day. I guess some forms are flattering but I mostly find it annoying

I thought about it because I have a person in my life who just so happens to have everything I have, right after she sees me with it...drives me nuts!

In this case it was probably the 3 year olds doing. At that age a kiddo goes to a party that they enjoy they will only want that themed party for their bday.

And really this kind of stuff doesn't bother me at all.

I went to a new friend's house and had the best coffee ever. She had a Nespresso machine. DH and I have been thinking about a coffee machine and usually do way too much research, but this time just went on "best coffee ever" and got a Nespresso machine. Sure, I copied her, but it's because I want the machine, not because I want to be her or be like her.
