I need time management lessons.

I forgot I had a math journal entry due tomorrow. It's only two short paragraphs but I was getting ready to take my medicine and go to bed. Getting into journal mode now is much more difficult than it would have been had I remembered earlier.
Fudgeeee I hate the first month of school. I have so much trouble getting organized.
Teach your childrens the time management in school so they do not end up like me. I need caffeine. And sleep.

  • 1) See if I could REMEMBER I had school work I would bump less. I don't have no willpower to leave, I just suck at recall.
    2) Dt. Mt. Dew is my jam. That shit is the bomb even though the aspartame is going to give me MS according to an article my godfather's wife just sent me. Lovely.
The journal tis done now. I'm not good at math. I'll have to go see her tomorrow probably. Two more math problems then, one more bump check and off to bed. <3

  • I am doing online school now. I did school before I had DD both at community college and online but I had little motivation and like next to zero time management skils. Now I have a pocket calendar and a calendar hung up on the wall that has every assignment and every activity we have planned. I over booked myself for tomorrow so I had to step back from my playdate with the mom's group :( I have found my biggest problem was not acknowledging exactly how much I had to do and how long it would take. I could have made it to the playdate tomorrow but then Iwould be stretched too thin. I am glad I know when to say no now.

  • I still keep a planner with me always. I have lists, important dates, ect in it. I even keep priorities and such on each individual day. It helps me to write things down physically and check often.

  • @wiggylilsis - it's so hard to back off from fun things :( even when it's for the good of everybody. My sorries.
@Nana - I have my calendar on my phone, a calendar on my wall of my room, and a student planner and I still somehow don't think of all the things I need to do on time.

  • Thanks :) it is tough sometimes to drop the fun things to take care of responsibilities but I have learned that in the long run it is better for me. I wish I had figured this out before DD because then I would already have my Bachelor's Degree.

  • @wiggyslilsis So.... you having fun resulted in having DD before you got your degree? Am I getting that right? ;) Jk, I'm the last one to judge anyone's life choices. There's so many people doing college later or part time for years and years like it really shouldn't even be considered abnormal anymore.

Also, you know what is fun? FRESH BAKED CHICKEN FINGERS bitches. They are delicious and I am nomming. Thanks community college.

  • That's because you don't think to look at them ;)

But same here. I have three calendars at home and if it wasn't for the reminders on my phone... I'd never look at them / get anything done / get to my appointments. God bless the cellphone.

  • Clearly I am going to have to start using the alarm function. Or something.
I have a dumb phone so "reminders" are not really reminders it's an alarm or putting a time in my calendar for it to vibrate on me incessantly until I turn it off.

  • I can't stand alarms on my phone. Like they irrationally annoy the shit out of me. I'm a weirdo.

Well, I did go to community college and get my AA and then tried a couple different routes to get my bachelor's (on campus and online) but the motivation just wasn't there to work full time and go to school full time and that with health issues meant it just didn't happen.

Now I have motivation because I can see how much this will do for our family andplusalso I get baby free time to do school. And my brain died a little since having DD and it is nice to make it work again!

What are you going to school for?

  • Ohhh gotcha. I really wasn't judging, I promise, I completely understand even in the best situations life gets in the way sometimes. Also health issues are the devil. It is literally impossible to be motivated to do almost anything when your body is hating on you. Blah.

But good for you for going back and I'm sure baby free time must be nice, even if you are doing school work :)

Education associates now, then inclusive ed history concentration bachelors, then masters but that's like 3 years away at this point still.
