Help me shop for baby jeans!

So I need help shopping. My LO has legit massive thighs and a huge booty (she gets it from her dad, NOT me!). I just bought her regular flare jeans from gap in size 18-24 months and I can't get them on her. They don't cover her butt and they get stuck on her thighs. Obviously, skinny jeans are the trend now but there is no way she can wear those! So can you help me find some cute baby jeans that will fit a chunky baby?? I'm a sucker for a baby, ugh, toddler in jeans!

  • Maybe try in the boys section where they have a more loose fit.

I was totally going to come in here and suggest GAP because they fit DD really well. I have 2 kids with skinny legs and no butt so I am not much help.

    What about jeggings? <-- stretchy
  • Or OshKosh, they have the best :: read largest :: selection of baby jeans I have found!

  • Ill check boy jeans, but i don't want them to look too boyish. I have tried jeggings and they are a no go because of her darn thighs. The pair I have are 2T from target and no way can she get them on. I have not tried OshKosh but I will.

  • Have you tried the Old Navy ones?  They are basically leggings.

  • These are Gap loose fit boy jeans but they are just regular jeans, no skulls or anything to boy them up :)

They also do an orginal fit that might be a little tight but still fit and be cute.

  • Maybe ask on the CD board, I think there is a company that makes jeans with extra room for the bulk of CD's maybe those would work.

  • I can't get real jeans in G either. She has a big butt and thighs. Gets it from her father as well. I just use jeggings. I have no problem with them fitting her. Infact 18-24mo children's place ones are actually too big. Old navy fit. 18mo circo fit.
  • Get these! Gap knit waist jeans are my favorite.

The top ones might work. And they aren't too boyish. The elastic band is a plus!

I actually have 18 month circo jeggings from target and they don't make it over her thighs. :(

  • Have you tried Gymboree? They don't stay up on DS because his butt/thighs aren't big enough, maybe they'd be right for your LO?

  • Didn't children's place make a husky line? I think old navy did too. May its on bigger kid sizes though.
  • Sigh. My little girl is size husky. She'll never live it down!! Thanks ladies! I have some online shopping to do! :)

  • Is she walking yet? L's thighs started slimming down as soon as she started walking and she fits into regular pants and jeans now. I used to only be able to buy her super stretchy pants/shorts in a size up in order to get them around her massive thighs. Now she can wear tts pants/shorts.

  • We CD and I've had good luck with Carter's jeggings. DD is in between 9 mths and 12 mths but I use 18 month bottoms to make room for the fluff. I have had horrible luck with anything Circo. I splurged during the Nordstrom sale and got her a pair of Joes Jeans jeggings in 18 months and those fit her well. She has major thigh chunk plus a serious fluffy butt.

  • @Flamingemu No she is not walking. She now has less leg rolls since she started crawling, so I imagine walking will definitely help too!! She JUST started pulling herself up so I'm guessing it will be awhile yet.

G is walking. Maybe that helped her? She is always cute in the outfits you put her in :). I feel like jeans are somewhat restrictive. Especially in the crawling stage.

No kidding - that is why my kid wears a lot of skirts and dresses.

  • Try the boot cut or pull on jeans from Old Navy. I've found the Cherokee brand fit a little looser than some other brands also.

  • We CD so fluffbutt is a challenge, and the jeggings from Baby Gap work really, really well.  They're stretchier than Circo or Carter's, but hold up really, really well and look more like "real" jeans. It's my one baby clothing item splurge (and I get them at the outlet on half-price day).

I have no plans to try "real" jeans on my kid anytime soon, lol.

I don't buy the jeggings, but the boys' version works great for my DD. They're a knit pant that look like regular jeans, and they're roomy in the legs.
