Success after IF

Breakdown and Awe

I was very overwhelmed at work today and then i was not looking forward to come home because i had to care for m by myself while DH was away and make dinner after feeling physically and emotionally drained. Then i got home and my mom had dinner made, laundry done, and told me to go take a nap and she would watch m. Im blessed! This pregnancy is kicking my butt so Im glad I have help. :). Do any of you get a break sometimes? Who gives it to you?

Ugh that is right. There are a lot of you on here with family far away. How in the world do you do it?

  • I'm so sorry work is kicking your butt. Working full time while KU is rough. But that was SO SWEET if your mom! Aren't moms the best? My mom is also super helpful when she comes. But I gotta give a shout out to MH. he helps me so much, especially with everything I've been through the past few years- my back injury, then IF, then my loss, then pg and newborn phases, then my wrist, and now pg and so sleepy again. He's a real champ and I'm so lucky!

  • I am glad your mom could help, enjoy every minute. My family is all overseas, they try to visit once a year & will be here in October for a week, I can't wait, I hate that they don't get to spend much time with my kiddos, but the time we do have is quality. I hope you start to feel better soon, it's harder when you have a family to take care of & not just yourself.

I will definitely count my blessing. So glad you will get to see your family soon. That has got to be so hard.

  • I love when things like that happen! Really just makes your day. Sometimes it's the little things that matter most. I have lots of family nearby but the person who helps the most Is DH! I love when he takes the initiative cooking dinner or helping with day to day tasks. It makes life so much easier, more than he knows!

  • Your mom is awesome! My mom did that several times after S was first born but not so much here lately. She'd call and ask if she could get S from day care, then when I got home from work she'd have been to the grocery, was fixing dinner, had done laundry, washed bottles, and S would be taking a nap. It was A.Maz.Ing. Yay for awesome moms!!

That is so sweet. Moms are the best. I hope I get the chance to do that for my boys' familes.

Unfortunately, I only get an extended break when my parents or in laws come in town, which is only 2x/year. DH is a big helper and has saved me from collapsing after a few rough days, but there's something special about moms. Anyway, our parents will be in town for three consecutive weeks this month and I am so looking forward to a nap!! I'm trying to get them to stagger visits so we can have someone here every three months, alternating between the two. That way I can take four naps/ year, lol!
