Review your carrier / wrap

Anyone using a carrier or wrap regularly? What do you use? When do you use it/what do you get done while wearing it? Love it or hate it?

I have a Moby and a KTan and am not a huge fan of either. Ktan hurts my back and Moby is just so hot (and complicated!)

Considering an Ergo or Bjorn, but not wild about the price. Think these are OK to get 2nd hand at a consignment shop, or would that be Germ City?

Ergo. Love it! I don't know what else to say. Yes, it's $$, but it will last you a long time and you can carry them on your back.

Don't get a Bjorn. They aren't comfortable.

They are easy to wash if you get 2nd hand, but especially ergos hold their value. Cheapest ergo I've seen used was $80, might as well just buy new.

I have a lot of carriers/wraps. My main carrier is a Kinbderpack. It's a soft structured carrier like an Ergo, but different. It fits differently than an Ergo and has more customizable fit. I like it loads better than any other carrier I've had. I also have an Ergo for DH. It's nice, but not as nice as my Kinderpack. I have a ring sling that I wasn't a fan of once Cade got out of the newborn stage and could sit feet out in a carrier. I then have a woven wrap. I really like my woven wrap. It's so versatile. I can wrap it in a whole bunch of different ways, front carries, back carries, ect. I use it for a good high back carry instead of facing out. Facing out isn't very good for babies hips. I'm also making a mei tai carrier right now. It's similar to a soft structure, just with a little less structure and no buckles. HTH

I have chicco. It's ok, I didn't love it. Very hard to get baby in and out of it.

I love the Boba wrap. I wear DD daily in it and half the time she falls asleep in it. But it's like the Moby, only stretchy, so it does involve tying. now that I'm used to it it only takes a minute to put on though.

I have a mei tei that I haven't really used much as she is still kind of small for it, but I've heard great things.

Ergo, LOVE my ergo! Worth the money even if you buy it new. Getting a mei tai and I'm looking forward to using it. I have a pinched nerve in my neck, so alot of slings are no good for me. The ergo and ssc carriers are great for me in the way they distribute weight. I have a moby that I used twice when LO was still small, but I'm not a fan (doesn't feel as secure as I would like).

I love my maya wrap sling, it has been great so far, I have used it to nurse in public while on the move lots. Now that DS is bigger I will probably start using my Ergo

Ring sling: loved as a newborn but now that he's bigger it's more of a help to hold him. You still need one hand on him but he loves it, it's by far the coolest option because I have one made out of light cotton gauze. We're just starting him in it on my hip Purchased from Etsy $33 including shipping

Mei Tai: loved it again as a newborn and could curl him in it. Then he was too big to be in there froggy style but too little for feet out and he didnt like it. Now that he's bigger and can fit comfortably and see out ill use it a lot more. Purchased at BRU with 20% coupon for around 30.

Bjorn: again great for a little guy. He loves it for walks and its my husbands carrier. Since all the weight is on your shoulders it's not comfortable after they get over 15pounds. Target $80

Ergo- like: it's a French company but looks and rates exactly the same. Haven't used it yet but again will be hubby's carrier for walks and hikes. Zulily $70+shipping

My advice is if you have a bigger baby skip the Bjorn. Try a mei tai because you can pick one up reasonably and see if you like it. If you'll keep wearing your baby make sure you find a carrier that will go up to at least 40 pounds.

Thanks ladies! I just bought an Ergo at BBB. Was able to take the model one for a test drive around the store and LO LOVED it. So did my back - so much better than carrying her! Can't wait to use it at the grocery store!

I got a Snuggybaby. It's 2 feet shorter than the moby wrap. I'm petite so it works well without the extra fabric hanging around. LO loves it and so do I!

I made a moby-like wrap of lightweight gauze and I LOVE it. It's cool and comfortable, and pretty. And it was only about $15, so...yea. It's good stuff.
