Ds must be getting 2 year molars, he has been chewing in everything. Monday I bought him a round nuby teether and he is currently watching mickey mouse clubhouse and chewing on it. Never thought I would be buying my 2 year old a teething toy. I don't think he even had one as a baby.

Last night my sil came over to babysit will I was at work and dh was hunting. Ds was great until 6 at which point he melted down and wouldn't do anythng. She left him for a bit to see if he would calm down and he screamed himself to sleep. :( I feel so bad for him. He doesn't tantrum often so if he does something must have been really wrong. Heart breaking. He woke a bit when dh checked on him at 9 and still didn't want to eat or have a drink. Just asked for his pjs and went back to sleep. He is still tired this morning. Hopefully he is just teething and not getting sick.

Disney in 9 more sleeps!!!! I'm anxious for the drive and ds not having set nap times. But I am so looking forward to get away from the house and a change of pace. And 3 weeks off work! Wohoo!

  • I made oatmeal in the slow cooker for breakfast this morning and I was very disappointed. The recipe sounded so good, with raisins, walnuts, apples and cinnamon. I'm going to ask my mom for her recipe to see if hers turns out any better, because I just love the idea of waking up to breakfast being ready.

My first thought: What is the point in putting oatmeal in the slow cooker? Then I thought waking up to breakfast sounds great.

  • DS2 is teething and hitting a growth spurt. It's super fun. Add to that my horrendous cramps and I just want to crawl in bed and hide there all day.

He started saying dada last night though, it was adorable. He was crawling all over the house saying "dada dada DADA! Baba! Dada! Baba baba!". Apparently he's dropped mama from his vocabulary now. Humph. Oh well, he said it first.

Can't see if you have a siggy. How old is he? DS is 8 months and just started doing the same thing. Dropped mama for dada. Won't be the last time, I'm sure!

It uses steel cut oats, which would take a while to cook on the stovetop. Also, my DH wakes up at 5:45 to get ready for work, so I thought it would be a nice treat for him to have breakfast ready.

Good idea. When you check with your mom can you share the recipe?

  • It is raining and I am happy!!  Now I have a reason not to do all the outside work that I should be getting done.  I guess I will bump and catch up on tv during nap time.  It will be rough.  : )

  • I feel like I am making good progress on getting ready for our move and putting our house on the market. Today during DD's nap, I organized our linen closet. I think it is the first time ever that all our linens have been nicely folded.

The cicadas (sp?) around my house are insane. They're louder than the bathroom fan I have going for ds's nap. And there are 4 shells attached to my chair in the backyard. I'm not sitting in it anymore.

Soooo excited for my birthday girls night out tomorrow. I'm staying out late for the first time in a year and can't wait. I just hope DH doesn't fall asleep before I get home because he never hears ds cry over the monitor. : /

  • Today I saw two women at the nail salon getting pedicures while holding toddlers on their laps/between their legs.  These kids were probably 2 1/2 - 3.  I'm guessing the women were together since they were having a conversation most of the time.

That is the last place I would want to take a mobile toddler.  I'm all for pedicures but I go for the peace and quiet and the ability to read a magazine uninterrupted.  I would have been annoyed if I was next to them getting a pedicure.
  • I hate Halloween, but I'm having a fun time planning DD's party. :)
  • My neice goes to the nail salon all the time, there 4 now. But they have like a mini pedi chair and she gets ger nails done and stuff with my sil
