Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Coming over from the 6-9 month board.

DS is almost 9 months, and i know he's way too early to be put on whole milk. but was wondering when yall momma's started giving your LO's milk. And when you stopped formula? I know they make some toddler formula but i know nothing about that. Any input is welcomed! :)

TIA

My son just turned 1, and we started whole milk yesterday, after our pedatrician okayed it. He's been breastfed until now, though, so it will probably be a gradual transition for us. (He's not exactly an expert with the sippee cup yet.) Doc said if the baby wasn't getting any other breastmilk or formula, he would expect him to drink 18-24 oz. of whole milk per day, in addition to a varied diet. Hope that helps.

  • We haven't started whole milk yet, but our pediatrician said we would start giving it once LO turns one. I'm assuming it's a gradual transition. I'd just talk to your pediatrician at your nine month appointment about it.

  • We will be starting transitioning to WCM when she turns one, we will do one bottle at a time over a month or so.

  • DS has a milk protein intolerance and is on Alimentum.  We have about 7 cans left from his last shipment, so I have decided since he's almost 11 months, we're going to start the transition to almond milk when there are two cans of formula left, which will probably be just after he turns 11 months.  We'll start with a 75/25 ratio of formula/milk, then 50/50/, 25/75, and then all almond milk over the course of the month and hopefully finish up right around his 1st birthday.

    Also, @heyjordynhey, ygpm!
