Hello fellow bumps, my daughter is 1 month old and she's beautiful! I am concerned about her possibly having Down Syndrome or other developmental concerns. I don't know if I'm being paranoid though. I was reading some info on Ds and noticed she has a couple. She has a sandal gap (she may be flat footed too but her father and I are both flat footed, unfortunately) and her left hand has a simian crease. She does have almond shaped eyes (but so do I) She focuses really well though, and has even smiled back at us at 2 weeks. She does get fussy and her cry is getting stronger every week. She has good muscle tone, she lifts her head really well and rolls to her side. Are these markers (the gap and line) serious enough to bring up to her dr.? They (the hospital and her pediatrician) are very happy with how she is, she's surpassed her birth weight at 2 weeks. Or should I just relax and not be paranoid? I guess it just never occurred to me until I read up on it and now I'd just like to keep my eyes open for any concerns.
