Trying to make the best if it.

Well, my DH and I sat down and looked at the finances last night and came up with a plan. If we got pregnant now, things would be pretty tight. Doable, but tight. But if we paid off 2 small loans (less then $5000 total) before we started trying, then we would have a lot more wiggle room. Plus we would have some more time to splurge a little with H's new raise. The main goal is to not touch our savings to accomplish all of this, and even continue to contribute to it along the way. What it all ended up meaning, is that we won't be TTC until May. Womp womp. :(

I was really hoping we could start sooner then that, but at least now we have a solid plan that will make our lives with a baby so much easier. Now I just need a time machine to make these 8 months go by a little faster. Anyone got a spare laying around that I could borrow?

    I'd spend these next 8 months learning about your cycle.  Taking your temperature, using OPKs, etc. to find out how your cycle flows.  That way, when you do start TTC you'll have a good grip on your timing!  Until then, enjoy your sleep and alone time.  I hear those are both in short supply after we have babies ;)  GL!

    This! Charting is amazing. I fully reccomend Fertility Friend (used by a lot of ladies on the boards).

    I completely plan on charting a few months before, but unfortunately cannot go off BCP too early. My vag is a total condom snare, meaning that they always get pulled off and then I have to fish them out. (Super sexy) so although the likelyhood of getting pregnant by faulty condom while charting is still relatively low, we dont want to risk it too far ahead of time. For now I just plan to enjoy the holidays with a hefty dose of wine ;)
