What do you guys bathe your babies in?

I was using the Summer bath chair (like a reclining lounge chair that I put in the tub) but he is getting too big (and can obviously sit up on his own now) so it's not necessary.

Do you all just bathe them sitting in the bathtub or use one of the little plastic tubs?  Any recs?

Re: Bathing

  • We have a reclining thing (Angelcare Bath Seat) and DD is now pushing herself up out of it, which is not convenient. So I tried just sitting her in the little mini tub and it was a comedy of errors--she scooted around, slipped, tried to push up to standing, and basically wiggled every which way she could, making bathtime near impossible! Last night, I used the bath seat again and gave her a washcloth to amuse herself and she sat happily for the bath. When she's a bit bigger, I think the mini tub will be easier, but for now, it'd be a 2-person job.

  • I had a baby bathtub but he is too big and moves too much for it. He is now in our actual bath tub.

He is getting so big : (

  • Just regular bathtub for the last month or so.  We can now bathe both boys together.  best. thing. ever!  It's so nice to streamline the night routine by consolidating their baths

  • I use the big bathtub and it's awesome.  I put a towel on the bottom so it's not slippery and, like PPs said, use only an inch or so of water.  DS gnaws on some age-appropriate bath toys while I suds him up and rinse him off.  He's fascinated by the water draining out afterwards and always smacks his hand on the drain, like he's trying to grab the water :)

  • We have the baby bathtub in the big tub and she sits up. DH always done bath and I come in for play time at the end. The last two days, when I came into the bathroom I said, ok bath time over, time to get out. LO looked at me, grabbed the side. Of the tub and stood up. It was pretty funny. We'll have to keep doing this to see if she really gets it.

We have used one of these in the past, and they are great to keep butts from sliding.  They are, however, a total pain in the arse to clean.

We got one of those as well but it doesnt stick to the bottom of our tub bc of the texture. Also, you cant leave those in the tub, it needs to be hung up to dry out. My sister had one and it grew mold bc she left it in the tub. But they are super cute!

  • We're at that strange transition where the baby bathtub no longer holds her, but she still can't sit on her own.  I've been getting  in the tub with her for baths.  We only give baby baths once a week or so (sponge bath other times) so it's not too bad.  I get flashback memories of my water birth when I'm in the tub with her, which is kind of nice :)

  • E takes a bath in the big boy tub now. :-) I have a no-slip bath mat in the tub but I also went to BRU and bought a sponge that he sits on in the tub. (It's big enough that I can lay him down on it to wash his bum too, which is super convenient- no sliding around) lol. The sponge was $6 or $7 bucks. I only fill the tub up with an inch or two of water too. He loves it.

  • We have an inflatable duck tub someone gave us. She loves it and it wastes less water than filling up the whole tub.

I have a Daughter born 2/26/2013. She is pretty much amazing!

  • DS has been in the regular tub for about two weeks now, since he can sit up very well and consistently. He loves it. Before that we had a Leacho bath pad, which was like a clothed sponge he laid back on. He also loved that. He really just loves the tub haha.

  • She has been in the regular tub with her sister for well over a month now. It is so much easier and my girls love it!
