If you have one of these for online apps and don't have cable, what kind do you have? What do you and don't you like about what you have? What apps do you use with it? We're contemplating getting rid of cable and getting one of these and Hulu+ and Netflix, so I want to get the best possible option. TIA!

Re: Smart Set-Top Boxes for TVs
Fun fact: my phone doesn't have Hulu in its dictionary, but suggested I use Zulu. How does that make sense?

@Trixi282 We actually do have a PS3, but the controller has to be plugged in so often and then Charlie grabs it and tries to run off with it and the chord snaps taut and she's either yanked from her feet or off and going with a controller that's turned on. Plus, it gives me issues with Netflix, I always hated fighting with it to get it to work. Also, we would need something for the bedroom TV since he won't let me watch movies over and over again. =P~
@Pegleg715 Thanks for the specifics on the Apple TV thing, I was picturing something akin to a 3-in-1 computer monitor. :-/ LOL
@WonderJess Is a Chromecast a smart-set for TVs? Where did you get it at?

It's good that it's easy to use, my dad babysits for us at times too and he's not really tech savvy. :-)
We do have laptops too, I just have so many concerns since they'd be down where LO would be able to play with them. She's already obsessed with them when they're out, and if they are left open to keep streaming she would be on them like white on rice.

I think it really just depends on what operating system you prefer and what you'll use it for.
We're a completely Android household and Chromecast is only $35 (ordered online), plus we still have cable. Channels are being added all the time and it doesn't matter all that much anyway considering you can stream content from a laptop or tablet with no loss of quality or lag on either device. We can even use our phones to control it.
