  Me!! Grace was a SET.
  
  Our first IVF we transferred 2 embies and my pregnancy ended in c/p.
  
  Our only successful cycle was IVF #2- a SET. GL!!

  dx: MFI 0% morph & low count. Occasional Anovulatory cycles.

  I am another SET success story

  DH and I will go back for an FET next summer and plan on starting with another single transfer... I'm terrified of twins round 2 - and have no reason to doubt a single transfer working.

  We transferred two and got DD. if we need to do IVF again, I would likely do a SET. I don't think I could do twins for #2(&3). Additionally, I loved the birthing center where I had a beautiful med-free birth. They don't deliver twins

  
  

  I think if the possibility/likelihood of twins scares you, a SET is your best option (Only a 2-4% chance of twins).

  Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!!

  DS was the result of a SET!  We're sticking with 1 when we go back for our FET, too.

  We did a SET and it resulted in DS. No other IVF experience to go on.

  I agree that a lot of it depends on the quality.  We transferred 3 when using my OE and DH's sperm (low quality embryos) - BFN.  Once we moved onto DE (with DH's sperm), we transferred 2 (also somewhat low quality).  After we got to the point of DE and DS, we transferred one for our fresh cycle (BFP - our daughter who is two) and also transferred one for our FET (BFP - baby boy due next month).  Both of our successful eSETs were with very high quality embryos, so it definitely seemed like the right choice to transfer one.

  We did a single embryo transfer after having genetic screening done on the embryo. Due to my age (40), and the risk to both fetuses and me if I were to carry twins, we were planning on a single embryo transfer all along. After the genetic screening, ended up with only one viable embryo anyways. Am now successfully at 14 weeks.  Alot of literature is out there on the value of genetic screening prior to transfer, and how the results are comparable to unscreened multiple embryo transplants. I personally would highly recommend genetic screening of every embryo prior to transfer - out of 9 embryos only one was genetically sound, and it was not even the "highest quality" embryo as ranked by the embryologist. Our doc told us it would have been one of the last ones she transferred, had we not done the genetic testing. The testing saved us the frustration and sadness of four unsuccessful transfer attempts.

  Me! I'm currently 32w with a singleton from a 5d SET of one perfect blast. Depending on your age and dx, SETs can be just as successful as transferring more than one embryo.

  IVF 4 was a SET. We also couldn't risk putting back more than one since losing the triplets to PTL.

  Thanks ladies! I spoke to my RE last night as well and he feels there is no more of a chance with 2 than one (just higher chance of twins) as long as it's a good quality blast. I'm turning 36 so he did say that normally they do it for people 35 and under, but my FSH is under 7 and I had lots of antral follies in my U/S yesterday so he doesn't think it will be an issue.
