I'm more and more thinking my OB's office in incompetent...

Everything I am reading (including recommendations from the World Health Organization) is that prescribing low dose/baby aspirin during pregnancy (even before pregnancy and just while TTC) is recommended (basically common medical practice) for anyone who is at a moderate to high risk of developing pre-e.  I am in the high risk category because I had prior pre-e...I'm actually probably in the very high risk category considering my pre-e before was considered severe and my LO developed IUGR.  Ugh. Stupid, incompetent OB's office. 

In fact, I am starting to wonder if that is why the RE recommended it because it does not seem like most other DOR ladies are recommended to take baby aspirin. 

IF DX: DOR & Fragile X pre-mutation carrier
2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4;
BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014

    It does make me think you need to switch offices.  I don't like how they treated you.  No patient should be treated that way.

    IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c
    IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN
    IUI#3 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP!
    beta #1 11/23 = 270, P4 = 75
    beta #2 11/28 = 2055
    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    I would definitely switch.

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    Did I already say you should call your RE and see if they'll monitor you early on?  I feel like I said that to someone on this board within the past few days lol. With both of my surprise BFP's my RE's office offered to monitor me until they would have released me had I done treatments.  With my son I took them up on the offer and took advantage of the extra ultrasound, but with this baby I just went to my regular OB after the first two betas.  

    Call the RE's office and ask them about the baby aspirin before you stop taking it and ask them for recs for a new OB.

    I really hope you are able to find a new OB soon. I agree with @saraevh you should call your RE.

    Sorry you are dealing with this, it is hard to find a good practice & even when you do, you still have to self monitor & be pro-active in your care. I have a history of pre-e & ptl, my RE puts all patients on baby aspirin, when I transferred care to OB they told me to stop, I continue to take it & I did in my previous pregnancy (stopped a few weeks before delivery).

    @sarah - I think you did say that. I may call them. I was wanting to avoid a ton of monitoring because I have a 5k deductible that starts over in January and I have billed $0 against it this year. So pretty much all ultrasounds and monitoring are OOP until January. ..which my ob doesn't do much monitoring so not as big of a deal, but when I was monitored by an RE with #1, they did alot. I tthink about 5k worth. I was hoping to save some of that money.

    Plus my maternity coverage starts in January, too. I didn't have any problems in early pregnancy before so I don't see why I would this time. ..it was all after 20 weeks. But since my OBs office can't answer a simple question aabout baby aspirin, I guess I may have to go the RE route. Or I may just try calling the REs office and see what they say.

    Oh that totally sucks.  We have a $4,000 deductible but we've met it already with all of the ultrasounds/fetal echo, etc.  Yah, just call the RE's office and ask them what they think you should do about the baby aspirin and ask them to give you some names!

    I will definitely meet it in 2014, but was trying to keep the next 3.5 months to a minimum. Iamgoing to call the RE anyway.

    I hope you can find a new OB. This one sounds awful!
    MF (low motility) - Began stims for IVF#1 7/21/12
    ER 8/2/12 - 14 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and ICSI'd, 6 fertilized. ET 8/7 - 2 embies. Beta#1 8/17: 143! Beta#2 8/20: 590! Beta#3 8/22: 1,162! 1st US 9/4: one beautiful little bean with the best sounding HB I've ever heard!
